Yuri Is My Job! 2

In the second volume of Yuri Is My Job! we learn Hime and Mitsuki had been friends as young girls but mutual misunderstandings drove them apart. Now we see why their relationship is so tense; each blames the other for betrayal. It's now seeping into the pose they must present as a loving pair of upper and lower students at their theme cafe. Meanwhile, the customers have noticed this and are commenting on social media. It all comes to a dramatic head. As a side story, it looks like Sumika might be up to something. We'll have to wait for Volume 3 to see what happens next. Yuri Is My Job! is continuing to be a strong addition to the genre.

Even though this manga literally has Yuri in the name, to me, it is more under the shojo ai genre if anything. This series is the equivalent of Ouran High School Host Club's way of parodying romance, instead, now it's with the yuri/shojo ai genre. It plays with stereotypes, but then gives meaning and depth. This is the second volume, so if you're reading this, you probably bought the first already. I love how this series plays with the idea of our personas we create and the art is very nice.

I really enjoyed reading this manga. I feel like it's a different twist then the usual yuri storylines. I'm looking forward to what is next for Hime and Yano! Also, what's going to happen with Sumika and Kanoko!? Now that Sumika knows Kanoko's secret! It's going to get even better!

The yuri continues as the characters pasts are unveiled and the central conflict of their relationship is exposed? Can they overcome it?

Yuri is my job has become one of my favorite manga. I love the story and it is beautifully demonstrated by the Authors writing. Hime is a wonderful character and I can't wait to find out how everything works out.

Secrets are revealed and we get to see more development in Hime and Mitsuki’s characters. What happens to those that become involved with liars? How can you tell when they’re telling the truth?Volume 2 gives us a better pacing and lets us get to see the defining moments of the girls’ relationship. Definitely a good read for people that love yuri and a pseudo-school setting.

This cast is proving to be much more layered and sympathetic than the premise led me to expect

when I got this manga three corner pages were bent but all in all in good condition when it arrived 😁
