I needed to get a feeder which the Starlings wouldn't rinse and this works really well. Younger starlings have a go and can just about reach the fat balls, but they can't really tuck in. The adults try all the angles, but fail.After a couple of days, smaller birds grew in confidence and started feeding normally, which is great.People have mentioned in the reviews for this product that Starlings are in decline, so I've continued to put fat balls in my existing feeder, which I've positioned away from this new feeder. It means they don't bully the smaller birds.One slight negative - the lid is a bit fiddly. It's a very simple design, but not brilliantly made. It's still a great product however and well worth the 30 quid.

An peanut bird feeder, product, strong and squirrel proof.

This product is better than a cheap shop purchase (pardon the pun). It's mostly good and made reasonably well. Fit for purchase cost.Starlings find it difficult but not impossible.. they give up eventually. Magpies can reach in and get a snack but fall off after they get something but persist and cause a mess that pigeons pick up at the bottom.Small birds find it easy (but get scared by the larger birds persistence).It seems to be squirrel proof.It hangs well and is relatively easy to clean/maintain/fill.4 stars for the larger bird access problem but a relatively good product for its price.Not bulky or heavyGood little feeder.

Good product and the birds seem to love it !

I spent a long time trying to find a matching pair of fat and peanut feeders... From the descriptions provided of the 2 I settled on, they did not match and were from different Sellers and manufacturers. This one too does not weigh 2.8kg as described but is nonetheless heavy duty. Well, I am pleased to say that aside from the different tubes inside of these two, they are identical in colour, construction, effectiveness including the lid and top mechanisms which on the face of it look simple to affix but which in reality aren't that straight forward. However, once on and the feeders full, the lids remain closed and firmly in place. As with all things for outside use, they are subject to the elements but I have spent hundreds of pounds on feeders of all varieties over the years and these are the best yet. The added bonuses: 1) The little birds started taking to them within a day. 2) The squirrels, crows and magpies which used their ingenuity to sabotage all previous feeders and scare off the little birds, are no longer able to do so. I'm not cruel so fee this lot on the ground with electronic 'cat scarers' throughout the garden. 3) If you want joy, real joy added to your daily life - I would recommend these without hesitation! This comes fully assembled and is sturdy.The good stuff.This is really solid and certainly squirrel proof. I had 4 of the little darlings in the garden one day and decided enough was enough and bought this.This may seem a tad cruel, but it was to my sense of humour fun, watching my furry friends trying to get into the new feeder. Squirrels get grumpy, very quickly it would appear. Then they start falling out with one another and chasing their chums up and done the feeder post ( I have a 8 foot high 4 inch by 4 inch post with hanging basket brackets attached on the edge of the patio for bird feeding, we are a tad excessive!) then a few laps of the patio before running off to continue the debate (fight) in the oak tree at the bottom of the garden. Pay back!!The not brilliant bit.The feeder comes with a lid that opens easily to allow feeding. However the whole of the top does come off also to allow for cleaning I assume. But if you get the right conditions and an over energetic squirrel it can cause the top and the cage to come undone. Resulting in the whole thing falling apart and depositing the contents on the floor. Only happened the once I really checked the mechanism each time I filled up. But be careful.The really horrible bit.If you are of a nervous disposition stop reading this review.The following is not the fault of the feeder or the maker but you need to bear it in mind.The feeder is great at keeping squirrels out. But it is a cage and can act as a trap. We unfortunately have a sparrowhawk that visits. It has always been infrequent. However one turning up the other day there was a great tit on the feeder and it lost a vital second clearing the bars of the feeder and that was it caught.Since then the sparrowhawk is noticeably more regular in its visits and has caught a second great tit. Blue tits seem to escape the feeder with little problem but the great tits being that little larger have troubles.So with regret I am going back to the old feeder. This is not the fault of this item which does what it claims.

Very good quality and value for the price. Much better than any brand I have bought. The food stays dry, the lid is heavy and the birds used it straight away. So good that I bought another one. Hopefully these will survive the Swedish winter!

Le produit est correcte mais léger.., mais fait la fonction.

Ist schon mein zweiter. Der erste hängt seit ca 5 Jahren im Baum, hat mittlerweile am Deckel etwas Rost angesetzt und Farbe abgeblättert, das stört die Tweeties aber nicht im geringsten. Ich füttere geschälte, gehackte Sonnenblumenkerne von Paul`s Mühle, die sind hier der Renner. Passt für Finken, Meisen, Rotkehlchen und alle anderen kleineren. Die großen Vögel, Tauben und Eichhörnchen müssen draußen bleiben. Damit nichts von dem doch recht teuren Futter runterfällt habe ich unten einen Plastikeimer Deckel ca 20cm angebracht.

Ich habe mir gleich mehrere davon bestellt und sie seit einigen Jahren vor einigen Fenstern hängen. Dazu habe ich mir einen großen Sack geschälte Sonnenblumenkerne bestellt. Es kommen sämtliche Vogelarten, von Meisen und Spatzen, über Buchfinken, Gartenrotschwanz, Kleiber und Spechte. Unter den Futterstationen holen sich Rotkehlchen, Tauben und Amseln ihre Portionen ab. Obwohl die Stationen teilweise in der Sonne hängen haben wir keinerlei Probleme damit. Es ist alles noch funktional und noch nichts abgebrochen oder kaputt, leicht in der Handhabung, tolles Produkt.
