ROLL Wireless Mobile Bluetooth Speaker (Waterproof and Shockproof) - Sugarplum

Let me start by saying, this is not a "Vine" review. I'm reviewing a product I bought and paid for. This is a bit critical, but some of the Vine reviews seem to be written by people with little or no experience with Bluetooth speakers. I'm no expert, but I own and have used Oontz Angle, Oontz Angle Plus, Braven 570, a couple of Altec Lansings and a Bose. I also own the 3 Vizios; the 5.1 sound bar, the 38" 2.1 soundbar, and the tv sound stand. I can not tell you just how blown away I am by the sound quality, ease of use, and innovative design of this little wonder. Sound quality blows away by far any of the other portable units I've used (or heard) and is almost (not quite) on par with the sound stand (but damn close, minus the stereo). 4 button control. just 4. Power and bluetooth on the back, hugs volume + and - on the front. Setup: 1) Open the waterproof cover on the back, and connect a micro usb to charge. full charge took less than an hour on a 2a charger. 2) Press the bluetooth button and pair it to your device (remembers up 2 8 devices.) 3) Do to the appropriate app store and search and download the UE Roll app. 4) Play something, and adjust your device and speaker volumes to your liking. The App: I thought an app for a speaker was a bit gimmicky, and you definitely can live without it, BUT it's actually very useful. You get a 5 band equalizer (that actually works!), the ability to control volume, and power, pair 2 UE speakers for stereo or dual sound (haven't tried it yet), and checks the speaker for the latest firmware. This to me is huge, as UE adds features and improvements. The product page explains more. The contentious Bungee Cord: Another gimmick I thought, until I started thinking about uses for it. Use it to attach the speaker to a shower rod, a bicycle handlebar, a belt loop, a backpack strap, a well placed nail on the wall or a picture frame hanger or a well placed 3M Hang-Ups (for those complaining about no stand.) Right now it is laying flat on my desk and the 360 sound is superb. BlueTooth Range: I clocked it to over 50 ft, YMMV Battery Life. After 6 hours of music at medium volume the nice lady told me I had "Twenty Percent Charge" Waterproof: Yup. And washable in warm soapy water. No issue with sand or mud. Quick tips: Press the + and - at the same time, and a female voice tells you the amount of charge in 10% increments. No bars or lights, Nice touch Multi Host; allows two different devices to pair to the speaker at the same time; stop the music on one device and let your partner play that favorite song from his device. Cool. Alarm: leave your favorite music app open (Spotify, Tune-In Radio) and set the alarm to "last song played." nice touch Hitting the FAQ button on the app opens the browser on your device to answer just about any other question you might have. TL/DR: I'm blown away. BUY IT!

Excellent speaker! Creates a lot of noise and even sounds great on full volume. I would recommend this item to anyone interested in a high quality, compact, portable speaker. I've convinced many of my friends to purchase this speaker and they all love it. The only problem I have had thus far - is that the UE Roll App will not load on the 6th gen Apple IPOD Touch. I've tried to download the app over 50 times and it will not load properly. The app has loaded on all of my other devices and works fine with all of them. The 5th gen IPOD Touch loads the app with no problems - it seems to be the 6th gen which needs some work. Overall a super great product though - Definitely 5 stars!!!

I recently purchased the UE ROLL for my dorm room, and I can say I am quite pleased with the sound it delivers. The bungee that is attached to the speaker makes it easy to hang the speaker on a hook, bedpost, handle, backpack, ect. The battery life is incredible and I was able to get two hours or so out of it without the battery dipping below 75%. For a speaker about half the size of an average dinner plate, it is easy to carry anywhere. With access to the free app UE ROLL, viewing the battery life, changing the EQ, customizing an alarm and even pairing your device to TWO speakers makes it simple for anyone to utilize the many features the UE ROLL has to offer. With such a phenomenal speaker, there are a few things to note before buying it. The first is that if you're considering getting this speaker for say a large outdoor party or even a house party, I would consider getting either two of these speakers or the UE Boom, as it delivers a louder sound. For a more intimate setting, this speaker is perfect, but can't meet the needs of a larger space. The second thing to consider isn't a very big thing, but still something to consider. The back of the UE ROLL contains a rubber flap that conceals the charger as well as a place for an aux cord. When you go to charge the UE ROLL, this flap becomes slightly bent and can be hard to put back into place. While this isn't so much of a technical thing, it is a tad annoying having the flap come open every now and again. Another topic of discussion is the lack of control on the speaker itself. If you have your phone say on the bed or you have the speaker in the shower, there is no way to skip, pause. or go back a song via the speaker. The only thing you can control on the speaker is the volume. All other functions are controlled directly from your phone/ computer/ tablet ect. This can be annoying if your device is not directly accessible. Looking at the UE ROLL, it is an innovative speaker perfect for sound on the go or a night in. It delivers beautiful sound quality with a rich bass. While it is not the most ideal for larger settings, it delivers quite a punch for such a small speaker.

OMG This speaker is amazing. It gets so loud, whenever I play it on full volume, people think I'm playing a speaker system. It can be heard throughout my house. I can't wait to see how it sounds paired with a second one. (I'm getting a second one). The battery also lasts a really long time. The longest I've played it was a couple hours and the lowest the battery has been was 70%. I haven't tried putting it in water yet, I can imagine it will still play the same, loud and clear, because it is very durably made. It's like a boombox made of stone ✌ Worth well more than 100$ in my opinion. Amazing deal for a speaker. 2025 Update: I purchased this speaker in 2015 & now it is 10 years later and I still use it! Nothing can compare to this speaker and its amazing quality and sound. I'm so sad though because I spent only $90 on it, and now it retails for $200 to $300. I definitely understand the price tag because it is worth the price. I might end up spending that on a replacement because I know for a fact it lasts and is worth it. The only reason I'm looking for a replacement is because the battery life on my 10-year-old UE roll is starting to decrease, and not to mention my speaker looks like it's been through hell 😅🤣❤️

I have tried out the Boom Mini, as well as Outdoor Tech turtle 2.0. This- is the bees knees. The Mini Boom is great, but i felt it would get a bit muddled in the bass. Same for the Turtle 2.0. This thing, seems to limit the bass well enough for loud production and it sounds great! Also the added waterproofing made this a no brainer. I originally went with the turtle 2.0 for the camera screw mount, mic and track forwarding- however the mount on the UE Roll was a much better solution. So this only has volume controls, no track forwarding, but all things considered it is a much better speaker than the Turtle 2.0 at music production and application. Pros- it does not have a mic (the Boom has a mic and this is problematic if you are using Siri to change music and you are not close to the speaker. It does everything the Boom does, at half the cost. Cons no track forward or back in playlists- but non of the UE speakers do this.

I don't think I've ever written a review for Amazon before, despite buying the vast majority of my household items on here for many years (I am an Amazon Prime addict). The UE Roll is, without a doubt, one of the most amazing electronic devices I've ever owned... It is extremely easy to use, sounds AWESOME, is very portable, and one heck of a deal at $99. I would have no problem buying this if it were 50% more, seriously. I use the UE Roll for my iPhone 5S and my PC running Win 8.1 It works flawlessly with both, and the iOS app is well thought out too. I can't wait to start using this at parties, outside while working on my bike, etc. So far I've just been using it around the house, and just love it!

Amazing sound from such a compact speaker. Ordered 2 refurbished units one works fine, the other doesn't. Wouldn't link via Bluetooth. Wish I would have bought both as "new" units rather than refurbished.

I love my UE Boom 2 so I bought this for my mom. It's a great speaker. Very loud and clear. Bluetooth range is probably about 30 feet before it starts cutting out. It worked great for 2 months until We brought it on a family camping trip and it got rained on and stopped working. Tried all the troubleshooting, but never turned back on. UE customer service is unbearable. Took 2 months, multiple emails and phone calls before they agreed to replace it. That was 3 weeks and I still haven't received a return shipping label. To be continued.... Issues aside. I would give this speaker 5 stars.

Fantastic product, good delivery by Amazon...low on bass but the sound is crisp and clear Pros: Compact tight and crisp sound in all the ranges (low, mid and high) perfect balance and no need to lower or raise the volume while watching movies Loud and clear for house parties or rooftop parties Multiple people can pair up and play music of their choice alternatively (upto 8) Awesome battery backup (Used it for the new year eve and it stayed on and USED TO THE FULLEST from 6 PM to 5 AM next day and still had enough juice left for me to watch a couple of movies the next day). Looks really cool and is compact enough to be carried anywhere you go. Water proof indeed Nice tabla theme for connection /powering on/ powering Off notification Can be operated from your mobile phone using the UE roll app and is fully operable including switching on or off Can be paired up with another UE roll speaker (that i haven't tried but i am sure it will work) Packaging was nice Charging cable is the same kind as most mobile chargers hence charging is not an issue,also the cable color is pretty nice The speaker can be cleaned easily (try not to open the charging port section after immersing in water as water might seep in) Cons: A little expensive Low bass, not much thump The cover for the aux cable and charging port is a little too tight and might crack from the edges from where it is attached to the body if tried to pry open a little too much This color will get dirty a lot hence be careful where you are placing it All in all, awesome product. My verdict: hang it on a wall behind u while watching a horror movie!!! ;-P

UE ROLL Wireless Mobile Bluetooth Speaker (Waterproof and Shockproof)-Sriracha Good base and clarity on the audio quality. Get too loud at full volume yet not much loss in audio quality was observed at 100% volume. Visually appealing speaker, the shape and fabric material makes it cute and harmless without any sharp edges. Multiple device connectivity makes it so user friendly and the handover is seemingly smooth. With 100% charge the speakers functioned 10 hours plus with 50% volume. One drawback is that as the product is made of fabric material it gets dusty. Overall an awesome product. Loving it!

Disclaimer: Got this for 3.5K on prime day. For it's size it has surprisingly large amount of bass. It gets pretty loud too but just starts to distort a little if you really push it. Connecting to Bluetooth is a breeze on Android devices even though it explicitly mentions just Apple support on the box. Would I pay full price for this? No. 5K? Yup. So if you get this for a discount then go for it.
