I have been looking for something to replace MH products. It's been a number of years now since their freeze-dried food has been anything but barely edible.About Peak: The noodles actually hydrated...turned into noodles! Sure, that should be expected, but other brands have not done that for years. The 'beef' in this packet actually has the taste and texture and chew of real beef! Seasoning? Very good. Not spicy, not OVERseasoned to hide some other shortcoming.Price? High. 40-50% more than others.Are you happy with chewable, hard pasta in your camp out bag of dinner? There are less expensive products that will fill that menu item very well. Would you prefer a product that properly hydrates, tastes good, and makes for a very good dinner at camp at the end of the day?Try Peak. It is arguably on the expensive side. It is also without question far superior to what has been my tried and true (and now not good at all) dehydrated camp food brand.

Wow. Just outstanding for a dehydrated meal. High in protein, not excessively salted, excellent texture once steeped and stirred, and truly tasty. The meat takes longest to fully hydrate, but it achieves the pleasant texture of well-done sautéed beef. The price is high, but any roadside chain restaurant you'll hit to or from your expedition will likely serve worse food for the same price.

We are attending Burning Man on the playa in Reno. You must bring all your supplies including food and water. We ordered this item to try after reading the reviews. I have to say it was pretty good. However I do agree you need to let stand longer than 15 minutes and a bit more water added in my opinion. I felt it was a bit salty tasting but otherwise impressed with the taste and texture.

A good tasting alternative. This food is great

The beef stroganoff is one of my favorites and it is made by a company that probably makes the best freeze dried hiking food on the market. Some hiking food you will only eat because you have to because you’re hiking, but these meals I would eat at home. All of their meals and desserts and breakfast that I’ve tried taste great have a wonderful texture and quality. I just cannot say enough about the quality of this food and how great it taste. It is well worth the money that you spend to be able to eat on the trail 100% recommend this product!

This is so good I actually keep some on hand at home as a special treat.
