Purchased two of these for our office as we have used Startech products in the past and have been very happy with the build quality and reliability. This model was selected to use with a couple of new Lenovo ThinkPads, charging the laptops and supporting dual monitors via display port without any issues. Of particular note is that ZERO DRIVERS are needed, so there won't be issues with firmware updates in future. Only criticism would be the number of standard USB A ports, but there are enough on the back to connect a USB controller for mouse/keyboard and one other if you have them seperately. There is a USB A on the front, but I wouldn't want to put anything in there other than a universal controller as it would defeat the object of a clean desk space! A superb bit of kit.

I have used a few of the cheaper docks and also a couple of the OWC docks, but none of these are a patch on this StarTech dock. It just works, no firmware upgrades; it is truly just plug and play. I am so impressed that it works, with running dual monitors, external USB, external USB-C - providing power, network cables... etc... It really is amazing!

I bought this to use with my new HP ZBook 15v G5 laptop. Although it's a very good all-round dock and has the ports I need, it does NOT work with two monitors and my laptop. This is a problem with the laptop and not the dock. I just had a very useful chat with a StarTech support agent.So if you have an HP laptop, check if it has "hybrid graphics" - in which case you will have to do what I do, which is to use this dock for one monitor and the laptop's HDMI for the other.

I connected one 4K monitor and one 1080p monitor but it would only show 1080p on both screens.It's also significantly larger than other StarTech docks I've purchased, and feels cheaper.

A really well built piece of kit. Does exactly what it says without any fuss. Works out of the box with my MacBook Pro 16”, dual monitors working without the need to any drivers etc.Bonus are the two display ports, so can run two monitors without problem. No lag or quality issues to the display via the unit.Very well built, no noise or excessive heat.Comes well packaged, power adapter with both uk and euro plug adapters. Also has a USB-C cable to connect your laptop to it.Highly recommended.

This was bought with the purpose of connecting two monitors to my MacBook Pro 13”, but for that I had to purchase two Active DisplayPort to HDMI 4K Adapters, as the monitors only have HDMI, VGA and DVI connections, and the passive adapters that I have don’t work.This was confirm after calling StarTech.com customer support, and they were very helpful. They even done a following up a few days latter to confirm if everything was working fine.The juice output is only 60W, so if only want to use one thunderbolt connection to your pc/mac and it needs more power to charge, this is not the dock station for you.I miss the power on/off button, but I can live with that!

it looks good on my desk, but there are quality control issues. It works most of the time, but I've noticed the following issues...1) On very hot days the video ports start cutting out. No amount of fiddling fixes this. And its annoyingly inconsistent.2) The sound port is so bad there is no point using it. It crackles like a cheap pair of headphones.3) The front USB C port (the one my MBP is plugged into) is a bit loose. It works, just feels insecure.None of these issues are bad enough for me to return the item, but I wouldn't buy it again.

It takes a bit of work to get it set up, you definitely need to install the drivers and understand what settings your monitors need to be in for dual 4k.But once it's up and running it's a really good dock.

Mir geht es wie bestimmt vielen Anderen auch und man sucht sich die passende Hardware für das Home Office zusammen.Das Problem war hier, dass ich für mein Firmennotebook (HP Elitebook 845 G8) eine Dockingstation suchte, die keine zusätzlichen Treiber benötigt und auf mindestens 2 Monitoren (32 Zoll) eine Auflösung von 4K mit 60 Hz darstellen kann. Die Verbindung soll über ein USB-C Kabel mit Power Delivery (PD) erfolgen. Die Monitore sollen über den Displayport (DP) angeschlossen werden.Voraussetzungen für diese Anforderungen ist DP 1.4. Das Notebook muss über USB-C mit PD Alternate Mode mit DSC haben. „MF“ ist wichtig, da ansonsten die Daten nicht schnell zu den Monitoren gelangen können. Somit entfällt auch eine Lösung mit HDMI-Kabel.Lieferumfang und Steckplätze:Geliefert wird die Dockingstation mit einem USB-C Kabel sowie Ladekabel mit 96 Watt. Das sollte in der Regel ausreichen um das Notebook dauerhaft zu laden.Der Anschluss an den Rechner erfolgt dann über ein USB-C Kabel mit Power Delivery (PD) und Thunderbold 3 (TB3). Vorne sind noch ein USB-C Port mit 15 Watt Schnelladefunktion sowie USB-A mit 7.5 Watt vorhanden. Ein Audioeingang für ein Headset, etc. ist ebenfalls da. Auf der Rückseite lassen sich dann 2 Monitore über jeweils 2 Anschlüsse mit HDMI 2.0 und DP 1.4 anschließen. Maximal sind ein Monitor mit 8K und 30 Herz möglich. Natürlich ist hier auch eine RJ45-Schnittstelle (Netzwerkanschluss) für den schnellen Internetzugang sowie ein USB-C und USB-A Port verbaut. Es gibt auch noch eine Vorrichtung für die Verwendung eines Diebstahlschlosses und die Montage des Routers auf Rückseite eines der Monitore.Erfahrungen:Nach dem Auspacken und Anschließen der Monitore über DP wurde die Dockingstation über das mitgelieferte Kabel mit dem Notebook verbunden. Nach Start von Windows 10 und Einstellen der Monitore samt Auflösung (4K@60Hz) läuft nun seit einigen Tagen alles ohne Probleme. Das Einzige, was ich vermisse ist ein Knopf zum Einschalten der des Notbooks über die Dockingstation. Hier muss immer das Notebook eingeschaltet werden oder kurz das USB-C Kabel raus und wieder rein gesteckt werden. Das ist etwas lästig aber jammern auf hohem Niveau.Fazit:Dockingstations die eine Auflösung von 4K mit 60 Hz bei 2 Monitoren sind schon schlecht zu bekommen. Um so schwieriger wird es, wenn auch noch keine zusätzliche Software/Treiber installiert werden sollen. Und genau diese Anforderungen werden hier erfüllt. Darüber ist der Support sehr rege und gut. Auf Fragen wird konkret eingegangen und die Antworten sind hilfreich. Die Installation ist problemlos. Daher gibt es von mir die volle Punktzahl.

A pesar de las malas reseñas, me decidí a pedirlo tras ver varias reviews. Funciona correctamente en un Macbook Pro 16 2020 con dos monitores conectados vía cable DisplayPort - DisplayPort a 4K60fps, junto con varios usb conectados a él, tras varios días de uso lo recomiendo.

Ottima dock station, la utilizzo da circa un mese con un Macbook Pro 13” del 2019 per connetterlo ad un monitor Benq 4K, alla rete di casa con connessione cablata e varie periferiche USB. Oltre al vantaggio di connettere tutto con un solo cavo vi è anche quello della ricarica senza dover utilizzare l’alimentatore originale del Macbook; in questo modo posso tenere sempre l’alimentatore in zaino e quando esco mi devo preoccupare di prendere solo il portatile.La dock station è di buonissima fattura, il colore si abbina perfettamente al grigio scuro del Macbook, non fa rumore perché è priva di ventole e non scalda eccessivamente. Bella estetica e sul fondo ha uno strato gommato che la tiene ben salda alla scrivania.Se dovete collegarla ad un monitor HDMI con apposito adattatore consiglio di acquistare quello specificato nel manuale di istruzioni perché altri che ho provato non funzionavano. Io l’ho scoperto dopo aver contattato l’assistenza che oltre tutto mi ha risposto in tempi brevissimi e con estrema disponibilità.Le cinque stelle sono per il docking e per l’ottima esperienza avuta con l’assistenza.

Dopo vari tentativi tra hub e singoli adattatori video/audio/ethernet piú o meno funzionanti, ho trovato questa docking station che (costa un po’ ma) si è rivelata la perfetta soluzione all-in-one per il mio Macbook Pro 16” M1 PRO.La docking è pienamente compatibile con macos (l’unico driver da installare è quello della scheda ethernet) e funziona senza esitazioni con dispositivi collegati a tutte le porte disponibili.Utilizzato per collegare monitor 5k (Dell UP2715K) via doppia display port in modalitá nativa, senza problemi/cali di frame/refresh rate ridotto. Veramente perfetto e consigliato
