Good value for money very happy

The description of the product says you can just “add straight to the tank”, I beg to differ on the basis of my experience; which is that I got 20kg delivered in 2 x 10kg bags both of which were really dirty. Covered in sand. I do admit that if you left it “eventually” it would settle however at what cost to your aquarium or your pump / bio media I wouldn’t like to say. For me I found that, the best way was to brake it down in to smaller batches to wash, of about a washing up / sink full and it came out spotless. It’s in my tank now and when I added it no clouds no nothing (I’m setting up a brand new tropical community tank) the actual media is very nice Nice sizes for the stones and once washed seem very good. I just don’t understand why it states in the description it’s been washed when it really doesn’t look like it has, if I had of added it to my tank and it made that mess I would have been very cross, if I had of had fish in there I think I would of gone in to a blind panic. I have attached a few pictures of my wash up and one of my tank once the stones have been washed and added to my tank. All in all, good stuff just needs a wash. I have given the product 4 stars as all in the product is good, it was delivered quick, however I’ve marked it down just one star for being dirty when the description says you can add straight to tank. Hope this helps.

Not as many contrasting black flecks but still ok.

Very difficult to get clean. Each bag was extremely dusty and dirty. Think we could of refilled our tanks several times over with wasted water trying to clean it.

I will add a picture at a later date if Amazon allows as every time I try to upload it deletes my entire review and I have to start again.So my detailed story is now a short review.Overall I am happy with the gravel.It took FOREVER to clean and unfortunately when you think it’s clean, it’s not. Rinse it more. I had to change my two brand new filters because they were clogged with the dust and couldn’t process anymore and the tank took days to clear.I have a 75 litre tank and I wasn’t sure how much I needed (measurements of my tank base are roughly 60cm x 30cm) so I ordered 20kg but I have around 500g leftover, which I could put in the tank but I feel it would just be a touch too much!All in all, the quality is ok, value for money is ok but just be prepared to really really rinse this gravel more than you think you need to before using!

The media could not be loaded.  Ordered black come black washed it ended up multiple shades of grey otherwise perfect but if your after actual black avoid

This is good quality sand, it feels nice and looks good wet however the photo clearly shows white sand but the sand that arrived is clearly grey. In the photo you can see the left hand side is this sand, on the right hand side is my other sand I bought. This isn’t a big issue for me as I’m not bothered by how my fish tank looks but if you’re trying to design a tank and need white sand then this is not the sand you should buy.However ut is very good value for money and comes with a lot of sand, it will be easily enough to fill my 300+ litre tank.
