Piacevolmente soddisfatta
Ordinato il 30 luglio e arrivato con largo anticipo il 3 agosto. Questo fumetto è stato il mio primo acquisto on-line e ne sono altamente soddisfatta. Il prodotto è arrivato integro ed è fantastico. Lo consiglio a chi, come me, piace Shadow the Hedgehog o comunque l'intero universo di Sonic the Hedgehog.

A confusing beginning, but a solid finish
Sonic Universe hits the ground running with the Shadow Saga, focusing its attentions on everyone's favorite angstbucket Shadow the Hedgehog. The story begins in the middle of an ongoing storyline which has Shadow and Metal Sonic bouncing into another universe - this is the book's weak point as it doesn't include the first two parts of this (Sonic #195, which showed how Shadow and Metal Sonic began their universal bounce, and Sonic X #40, which had the two stopping in the Sonic X universe before jetting over to this title), thus a few people might be confused as to what happened. The rest of the storyline focuses on Shadow's attempts to rescue various weapons from being Eggman's own and his attempts to reconcile his own fate and feelings. Beyond that, the first two issues also do a good job at reconciling how three video game events - the entirety of Sonic Rush Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2 and the final fate of E-102 "Gamma" - are handled in this universe. Despite the confusing beginning, the book is quite the read and a good way to start off this title (which has now surpassed it's previous second title slot, Knuckles the Echidna, in issues made.)

Saga of the Ultimate Lifeform
The first issue of Sonic Universe is action packed with great stories and superb artwork from Archie's recent dream team of Flynn, Yardley and Amash and is a real delight for Sonic fans. I really enjoyed both the storylines and the beautiful artwork in this issue, dedicated to stories featuring the 'Ultimate Lifeform'; Shadow the Hedgehog. The first story; 'Living Weapons', sees Shadow crossing dimensions while fighting Metal Sonic and winds up in the world of Blaze the Cat, where she and Marine the Raccoon assist Shadow when Metal Sonic attacks a nearby sea port. The second story; 'Time and Again', sees Shadow teaming up with Sonic and Rogue the Bat as they infiltrate an observatory which Robotnik has turned into a place to house a powerful beam weapon. While on the mission; Shadow remembers other several missions which had occurred in the past. The third story; 'Old Soldiers', sees Shadow try to convince E-102-Gamma to join the G.U.N. organisation, but both are soon attacked by E-123-Omega, sent by Robotnik to destroy Gamma. The result of the battle is sure to shock a few readers, but I won't reveal spoilers. ;)The fourth story; 'The Ultimate Lifeform', sees Shadow leading Team Dark into the Special Zone to try and out-wit the panda god; Feist and attempt to gain a Chaos Emerald for G.U.N. Though his first attempt failed, a pick me up talk by Hope Kintobor, the resident techno genius at G.U.N., manages to perk Shadow up in a very touching scene. The book also contains a few Off Panel shorts and some profile pages on Shadow the Hedgehog, Blaze the Cat and her world, the Kintobor Lineage, a look at the Metal Sonic series, profiles for Team Dark, Hope Kintobor, G.U.N. and it's commander; Abraham Tower, Rogue the Bat and Gamma and Omega.Overall, a great book, superb stories and the artwork is just amazing. I can't phrase this book enough, defenately buy it if you're a Sonic fan or at least a fan of Shadow the Hedgehog. ;)
