I bought this product to add to my fishing collection, as a new freshwater fisherman to Pennsylvania lakes and streams. I thought it would be helpful in weighing the fish as well as holding fish up for the trophy photo. (I know its a cheesy reason). Overall, a pretty good device. The reason I gave it four stars is because the material seems cheap and I am concerned about how long it will last.The weight appeared accurate on my most recent catch, though I didn't compare it with an alternate scale. The makers put in a pin jutting out which ensures that the tool is lined up. i would imagine that this would also assist with making sure the spring doesn't break.Finally, in order to use it, you have to pull back the lower grey part and the claws open. The weight of the fish and the second spring help keep the claws shut when holding the fish. I recommend attaching the claws inside the fishes lips rather than at a hook.Conclusion: Great for a person of any experience level of fishing. Gives you an approximate weight and assists with the trophy catch photos. Also, gives you an alternative to keeping the fish on the hook.

This scale is fantastic. You dont even have to touch the fish if you dont want to. It holds them, weighs them, releases them and is pretty much the best fishing purchase I have made.The quality surprised me for the amount of money. It is heavy duty, lips the fish great and doesn't let the fish fall off when it starts flipping and flapping around. I absolutely LOVE this item and will not go fishing without it.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product to everyone.I payed for regular shipping and got it in 2-3 days. It came packaged in a padded envelope in the mailbox, and the package was not damaged at all.I had read all of the reviews before buying and anyone who complains about this scale must have just had bad luck. This thing is great.

i do a lot of hiking through woods and brush to get to many of my favorite fishing spots, which means i cant really carry nets. a friend of mine had a 50 pound lipper scale like this one when we were fishing for blue cats in the patomic. so in order to have something to help me haul in fish without getting a net stuck in tree branches every few yards haha. i take this thing with me everytime i go fishing its always in my tackle bag. its strong, sturdy, easy to use, and its is pretty accurate as far as weighing the fish.

Starting off I own two of these! I have been fishing with this tool for only one year so far, but they haven't shown any signs of wear and tear at all. I'm really impressed with the lip grip feature. I use this tool in place of a net when I'm fishing from my boat. The scale is a bonus, but I'm not sure how accurate it actually is. I don't need gloves because the handle has excellent grip even when wet. The biggest fish so far was a 20 lbs. pike and this tool held up great!

The gripper quality is good, my wife and I have used it on many 32" and larger bull red with no problem, even the fish still has lot of fighting left when raise out of water, this gripper never fail us. I am happy with the function of the gripper part, but the scale part is suck, forget it.

This is a nice scale if you're on a budget. It's small and light making it easy to carry and weighs accurately. The lipping mechanism works well; similar to the Boga grip. My only complaint is that it was shot after only one season of serious surf fishing. This meant that it got dunked many times a week during the season. Even though it got rinsed out after each trip, it would not accurately weigh at season's end (a 30 lb fish bottomed out the 50 lb scale). If I didn't move up the Boga, I'd buy another.

This is my 2nd pair. A huge pike stole my first pair which brings me to my one complaint, the safety rope on this product falls apart over time and when you're dealing with big fish that can be a problem. I purchased a coil lanyard as a safety backup so this pair won't get away as easily

It grabbed the fish very easily and held them quite well. I tested the measuring ability of the device with 5 pound weights. When I used one the total was off about a pound. But when I used two it was absolutely accurate. All it all I am pleased.

Good buy for the price. Does the job well. I tested the precision with weights and it is accurate. Not so easy to read depending on your vision but i can weight a fish with a precision of about half a pound which is good with me. Probably not tournament material...

Gripper works ok, not really long enough, Fish scale is not in small enough increments and very hard to read weight on handle,
