Works well; easy to use
I bought this set of sprouting trays for my wife. She has been using jars to grow sprouts, but we were interested to see how these trays compare. The trays are lightweight, fit together perfectly, and come with two one ounce packets of seeds. The printed instructions are easy to follow. One of the nice things about these trays is you do not have to soak your seeds. You can if if you want to, but it isn’t necessary. It’s pretty much a self watering system. All you have to do is pour 2 cups of water in the top cover and let it drain. The bottom tray collects the water that you dump when you’re ready to water again in 8-12 hours. The sprouts grow quickly.About the only negatives are there is no cover to block sunlight (we just cover them with a dish towel) and you have to harvest your sprouts and store them in a separate container versus sprout jars that can simply be put in the fridge. These are minor and shouldn’t stop you from buying this set.If you enjoy eating sprouts, this is a great way to grow a variety of them easily. It would also be a fun project for kids.

Works great!! I absolutely love it!
This sprouter works amazingly well. No soil required, instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the sprouts grow just fine. No fuss, no muss. Delicious sprouts without the earthy undertone you get from sprouting in soil. I’m planning to buy at least a few more!! I’d recommend using a dry erase marker to label each sprouting tray.

Well built, tight tolerances, pieces fit well together.
Easy to use, used included seeds worked well. I then went to a Chinese Market, and bought Mung beans. They worked well too. I give this a five-star rating for everything. However, this is only going to make enough sprouts for one person per week. I keep a 2-cup full measuring cup next to the sprouter so the water is always room temp. And it reminds me to change water twice a day. Would I buy this again? I am thinking of sprouting garden seeds next. With the price of garden seeds exploding. I have bell pepper seeds drying on my counter from yesterday's dinner prep. I will try them for fresh greens. I am happy with my purchase.

Does not drain well.
I thought I was going to like that I could grow lots of sprouts. After 4 batches I am disappointed and feel I wasted my money. The water does not completely drain and the sprouts mold before they are ready to harvest. So I find this product a waste of money.

Widen the holes using a small nail
Like another reviewer here, I first ordered one of these years ago. They were manufactured by a different company then. They were about twice as large then. The older units had larger holes as well. Yeah, seeds could get stuck in those too. However, they drained much more efficiently. This could also be due to the overall size of those units. I'm not sure. Anyway, once I realized that these aren't draining, I took a small nail and widened the holes using a back and forth motion. This creates an elliptical shape which can hold a seed but also allow water to flow around it. I can tell that this is still going to require more work though, to make sure all of the trays drain. I am going to rotate them more frequently. I think they should be watered twice per day.

Quick microgreens 2nd batch shown
At the moment I don't have a batch growing.I fill only two trays at a time. Top mt, full, mt, full.Only 1 tsp or less of seeds.Once seeds sprout and morning water runs through, IF there is oder, I mt bottom then fill up tray with luke warm water and gently squish seedlings with fingers then repeat.Tip / drain / rotate position of filled trays. I keep unit next to a lamp with full spectrum bulb, turning 180 during day.Very pleased with this easy to use product

Great sprouter!
I have 4 different seeds: alfalfa, broccoli, wheatgrass and flaxseed. Alfalfa grows the fastest, started sprouting on day 3. It’s a week now and all has sprouted. The sprouter works great. Now the question: the sprouts have reached the height the tray allows, what to do next? Transplant?
