Great for back, chest, down 'there'...no irritation
I confess: the back hair - while minimal - was getting to me. Tank tops became a no-no because of the constant fear of hair peeking out. Truth be told, I tried to address this issue with a regular razor (egads, the burns!!!) and an older Panasonic body trimmer (about 4 years ago, oodles of irritation).Begrdugingly, I purchase the Philips Norelco BG2038/41, and hoped for the best.Wow, this exceeded expectations. Build quality is exceptional (nice weight), also groove (that fits wonderfully in my hand). The charger station is effective without being obnoxiously large. Time to put it to use.Even with the included back extension, it was still a bit awkward to shave that area...especially lower back...and it was anything but a perfect shave. Still, it got what it needed to do, and left zero irritation. Note I did NOT use any of the three included filters. Tanks tops audibly celebrated their release from shackles.Feeling confident, I ventured on to the chest area. It was like shearing sheep...and within minutes, smooth as can be. Sensitive areas around chest center cleaned up easily. Again, no irritation to speak...also not perfect but darn close. Finally, I went for broke down 'there.' With careful strokes, everything cleaned up surprisingly easily, on par with using a blade...but oh-so-less scary. Hair around there - like chest and back - came off easily.Rinsing was easy, albeit drips a bit post rinse out of the blade area. Nothing too bad, however. The ultimate test: the better half - who thinks dudes should have hair, that it wasn't an issue - was impressed with the results. Especially chest and upper back where muscle definition is now visible. All in all, this is a great product that - even if for one area of shaving - is a solid purchase, one much safer than a standard blade.

Safer than trusting myself with a razor!
After comments from my partner as being a bit of a 'sasquatch' I finally got into the desire to start manscaping, especially 'below the waist', so ended up comparing the Bodygroom series to the Gillette Fusion Proglide. With total fear of using a razor 'down there' it didn't take me long to lean towards the Bodygroom, but what really sold it are the number of reviews from ladies who have also used it to their satisfaction. Add on a 45-day money back guarantee to ensure I like it, and the 2 year warranty, and I'm really interested. As for which model, Amazon markets and compares the current 3: The BG2028 (base), BG2038 (mid-range) and the BG2040/34 (premium edition). Price alone there's a cost differential of $10 between the base and mid-range, and $25 between the mid-range and premium.Looking at the specs:- The only apparent benefits of the premium (BG2040/34) model were the separate trimmer/shaver in the same unit, and a pivoting head. The additional cost seems too much for only those benefits, given they all claim to both shave and trim;- The mid-range (BG2038) had the same shorter charge time as the premium (1 hr, compared to 8 hrs for the base model) and comes with an attachment to reach your back;- The base model (BG2028) seems the same as the mid-range but has an 8 hour charging time (the biggest gripe in the reviews I read).Seems that all use the same replacement shave head, so, for an additional $10 over the base model I went for the BG2038 since I couldn't justify spending for the premium version, though I did get both the reduced charge time and the back attachment with the mid-range. Thanks to Amazon Prime the unit was quickly received, and then due to the rapid charge I was able to quickly start testing it!My impressions are counter to some other reviews but as a SHAVER it really does deliver smooth results with little to no irritation and is very easy to use. Be sure to hold the skin taught and as flat as possible, else on a couple of occasions you may (like I did) get some very minor nicks. It's performance as a TRIMMER however failed me and took way too much time, as I had to take multiple passes and with poor results on each pass. This seemed most likely due to it using the small cutters either side of the shaving head (see the picture on the listing) to cut 'through the hedge', and in my view this seems adequate for only less coarse hairs. Frankly for trimming I'll end up using the hair clippers I purchased a while back that are designed for that purpose, and that do the job really quickly. If you're lightly haired this will probably work well for you, but if you're anything more and don't already have some clippers you might look further at the BG2040/34 that has a dedicated (hopefully better) trimmer that is separate to the shaving head.Ultimately, the Bodygroom series is definitely worth a try if you want something to safely and easily shave below the neckline. If you want an integrated trimmer and/or have coarse hair I'd try the premium (BG2040/34) edition, otherwise I'd recommend the BG2038 just for the shortened charge time and a great shave. Ultimately, with the 45-day money back guarantee and the 2 year warranty it's hard to go wrong, and so far it's doing what I wanted it to do!

Really Great!
This is my 3rd Phillips body groomer (the first was a different model similar to this one that broke when I dropped it, the second was a lower end model that lasted 2 years before the battery wouldn't charge anymore). First off, I love the brand and quality. I've been reading reviews for quite a while searching an upgrade, and this oneappeared to be one of the best. Shipping was quick (Amazon Prime) and packing was great. The best thing about this particular model is that it's fully charged in 1 hour! My last one had to charge overnight. The lower end one used to nick sometimes when getting a bit close. Not this one (one should be very careful nonetheless!). I do shave the lower end of 'the pole' and I've had no issues. Also does great on the beanbag if you make sure the skin is tight. With the attachments it's no problem, and everything about the groomer is efficient and we'll thought out. It seems quite durable (don't drop it!). Haven't had to use the back shaver attachment, so can't say anything about it . I get a good, even, and quick shave from this everyone, no problem. Battery life is sufficient, of course, but that will obviously change with time. If this broke, I'd buy another.
