June 2024: - This bulb has operated beautifully in its daily dusk-to-dawn mode in our extreme hot/cold Minnesota climate for: 45 months and counting. Original review follows.Wonderful to find a Dusk-to-Dawn bulb with a medium intensity output (500 lumens ... 40 watt equivalent). My goal was to augment some low-voltage lighting. I tried a 60 watt equivalent by another manufacturer but that was too bright, overwhelming my low-voltage lights. But this LOHAS bulb blends well with low-voltage lighting, yet it's still bright enough to safely illuminate nearby steps and sidewalk. Runs cool to the touch, unlike the other maker's dusk-to-dawn bulb that oddly ran hot for some reason, so this bulb is using electricity to output light, not heat.I like its smart detection of sunlight hours: it powers on when dusk settles, powers off with early rays of morning sun. Impressive, since I've located it on the west-facing side of the house inside a fixture with frosted glass panels, yet it detects ambient light consistently and properly.The artwork on this product page (when I originally purchased) made the bulb look garish, oddly yellow, tinted - but the product is not tinted, don't be fooled. It's neutral colored, and the bulb outputs a normal, attractive, warm tone, resembling incandescent bulbs. Almost didn't purchase, thinking it was some funky painted color but, nope, it's normal, attractive, very pleasing.Really love its function, efficiency, and very pleasant light output. Great product!

I put these in my outdoor patio sconce fixtures to replace CFLs that had lasted ... no kidding ... more than ten years with continuous illumination. These are brighter for lower wattage, turn themselves off in the morning, on at dusk and have pleasing color ... enough to navigate the yard and garden clutter that crawls onto the patio when no one is looking, but not so bright as to attract insects or embarrass romantic teenagers. Ask me in ten years about longevity ... they have a very high bar to clear.

I like these bulbs because they work the keep the flying insects away. I just wish they were 60w instead of 40w but still a great buy

We bought three of these five years ago and have used them every night since. They are bright and have worked flawlessly from dusk to dawn for over 1500 nights. The first one burned out two weeks ago, and the second a week later. That tells me they are well made, and consistent from bulb to bulb. When the first one burned out I immediately searched my purchases and ordered four more, despite the fact there were less expensive options. These have earned my brand loyalty. Being a “thrifty” senior citizen, that’s hard to do!

They were packaged well, and like other brands I’ve bought NONE were broken. On and off timing is perfect.

Los focos Led Lohas del atardecer hasta el amanecer me resultaron de mucha utilidad ya que mi esposa y yo trabajamos y salimos tarde de nuestros trabajos. Desde el momento en que los recibí, de inmediato los coloqué en el exterior de nuestro hogar en lugares estratégicos y hasta el día de hoy han funcionado perfectamente y han sido de mucha utilidad... los recomiendo porque además el consumo de electricidad es mínimo...

I like that these bulbs work well. I'm not sure how long they will last. They automatically go on when it begins to get dark and turn off as soon as it brightens up. Main thing is to keep your light switch on in order for it to work.
