It will get darker as your properly oil/wax the board. However it is a very THIN board and does warp easily. I returned mine and bought a 2 inch teak board. Is this normal?** A: You had the grain raised. Most likely happened after you got it wet for the first time. Very common in wood but there’s a proper way to avoid this happening during the finish sanding process. Unfortunately you’ll need to clean it well and finish sand with fine grit, then re season the board.
