Digital Alarm Clock with Temperature

Simple clocks to glance across the room are a dime a dozen. But we despise the time change game. Computers and phones that change the time automatically alleviate that stress, so any room clock simply must do the same thing. And it has to run on electricity for reliability. We’ve got plenty of decorative wall hangings that used to be clocks to prove that we’re too lazy to change batteries. So we waded through a lot of clocks to find a basic electric atomic clock. It shouldn’t be so difficult to find such a simple request. The power source should be a part of the title. Finally, we found about three choices. We narrowed it down to this one because the day and date format were more appealing with (abbreviated) words rather than numerals. We could do without the unused alarm time always showing, but nothing’s perfect. We were also impressed with the variety of colors. Surprisingly, we didn’t pick our favorite color. We picked drab black because the numbers pop off the screen without the distraction of color contrast. Try clicking back and forth through the color choices and see if you think that black is easier on the eyes. As promised, the clock is corded electric. Well, electric by way of USB. It comes with the brick to plug into the wall. Whatever happened to regular electrical cords? After plugging it in, the clock was easy to set up. Pick the time zone and everything else was set up by default. So far, the clock's keeping the time as expected. The clock is small enough to be unobtrusive, yet the large time is easy to read across the room. It’s convenient to see the day, date, and indoor temp in the bottom row. We saw some models with outdoor temp and other weather information, but that was too much clutter on the screen. We wanted simple, and that’s what this clock is. Today, the clock gets a 5. We trust that the next time the time artificially changes, this clock will keep up so we’ll never know the difference. We hope we don’t have to come back and downgrade the rating.

This is a great alarm clock. I love the way all the important info is on the face of the clock The numbers and letters are well lit and easy to read day and night. I did need to follow the directions on how to set the clock, but once I caught on it is easy. I also got a Deamsky clock for my very senior father who had trouble feeling the raised buttons on the back so had trouble setting the clock. The clock appears to be well made and dependable. I now have three of these clocks and am very pleased with them. Would buy again.

I spent hours over many days during 6 week sorting through available clocks on Amazon and other sites. Initially I passed this up due to a lower than average review rating. However decided to give it a try and ended up ordering 3 more. Now have a total of five. Will update review if they fail. Have had thee clocks now for 2-3 weeks. Set up was impressive! After the first two arrived, I was so blown away, that I ordered 3 more. After unpacking, I inserted 3 AAA batteries in a couple (and not in others) and plugged in. I did not have to set any time! It set itself automatically on my time zone. That met my most important need. We live where thunderstorms take down our power for a few minutes to a few hours a few times every month, sometimes weekly. Occasionally lose power for a day or more. It drives my husband and I crazy having to reset clocks so frequently. We have a few critical clock needs- large font, ability to dim at night, able to display time during power outages and ability to have the clocks display the correct time automatically when power comes back online. Unbelievable that no one makes such a product! Unless it's battery powered only. So when I finally gave in and looked at "battery" clocks, this one popped up. "Battery only" clocks are too small for our needs as they are mostly designed for travel and when not backlit, are hard to read. Battery clocks just can't put out the wattage needed for a bright, year round display. So I kept searching for a clock that plugs into the wall and had an option for batteries to keep time during power losses. This clock plugs into the wall and works both with and without batteries. When power goes out, if batteries are inserted then the clock face is able to display all readings when the Light/Snooze button is tapped. It displays for about 30 seconds. Very helpful if power goes out in the middle of the night and you are wondering what time it is. It also displays a "low battery" icon when they need to be replaced. We put one in the garage with batteries and another in the guest bedroom. The other 2 are in a family room and game room and they didn't need batteries as we don't use those rooms when we lose power. When power is resumed the clocks all display correct time, no need to reset. Of note, the clocks may have a 1-2 minute variance of displayed time but for us, that isn't an issue. Any clock we manually set, also has that same varience. Should an exact time be needed, we have mobile phones and tablets. The six inch high display, is absolutely perfect! Aging eyes need more space between characters. This clock has a good 1/4" space from all the edges and 1/2" between hours and minutes. The time is displayed 2 inches high on the upper two-thirds of the screen. This thoughtful elevation makes it easier to view than a smaller 2-3" clock when propped up in bed reading or laying down because it's at eye level. The 2" white font is easier on our eyes than our previous 2" red LED clock displays. We keep the Bright setting (5 levels) on high for the all the clocks except for the ones in our bedroom and guest room. Those are kept on Auto Bright which means it self dims to the lowest setting between the hours of 9pm to 7am and then retuns to the high setting. The minor drawback is that when the power goes out (even with batteries inserted) the clocks will default to the highest Bright setting, so the Auto setting needs to reset. The purpose of the batteries seem to be soley the ability to see all the displays (time, temp, humidity, battery level, time zone, day, date, am/pm, moon phase) when the Light/Snooze button is pressed. A huge unexpected plus for us with this clock is the built in Day, Date, Temperature and Humidity displays. Being retired, we are used to minor confusion of the days which are tracked mostly because of medical apts. Seeing the day and date helps us become centered when awakening. Living in FL the temp and humidity are quite useful as well. The clock size is perfect. Not too small to be easily knocked over accidentally or knocked off when cleaning the table top. It's lightweight to pick up when dusting and easy to grasp. The base is firm and keeps the clock on its placed location. The body design doesn't accumulate dust on the back. The power cord is long enough to reach nearby outlets from a table top. While not designed as a "travel clock"' should we have to travel, I would definitely pack one of these in our suitcase! So often we have to unplug hotel clocks due to too much night time brightness, alarms going off in wee morning hours and not displaying the correct time. This clock displays the Time Zone (EST, CST, est.) which is so needed when traveling! Not to mention the temp display which helps with decisions over hotel thermostat adjustments. It's so very difficult to locate and read those wall thermostats without a flashlight and glasses. Another travel plus is having the extra USB at our bedside. Our order for a generator install at this new home has been held up for 5 months due to shortages of propane tanks. However, these clocks will still be very much needed as the generator doesn't kick in until we have a 2-3 min loss of power. (A safety/compatibility issue with the tie in to our electricity provider to ensure its a true power loss and not a flicker situation.) Very pleased to have the correct time displayed regardless of power loss or flicker. My one reservation is if they will hold up over time. A handful of older reviews said they gave out after a few months. If that happens I will update this review.

I really appreciate this simple a alarm clock! I love the dimming adjustments. Easy to set alarm. I like I can charge my phone also, less plugs in my electrical outlet. The only thing that I have difficulty with is you have to set clock on edge of table because of the cords in back and you have to be careful moving it. That said, it is a great clock and I would buy it again.

I love this clock, and I have purchased several of them for around my house and cottage. I have also given this clock many times as a gift in different colors, including black, gray, and white, and everyone has loved it. I usually get another mention later after they have used it for a while about how great it is and what a thoughtful gift it was. The auto time-set feature is my favorite part, and the room temperature display is a close second. I like having a clock that is easy to read clearly in rooms I am in often because it helps me keep better track of the time throughout the day. What I like: • Auto-sets the time when plugged in • Automatically adjusts for daylight saving time • No manual spring/fall time changes • Easy to move from room to room • If you unplug it and plug it back in, the time sets itself again • Large display is easy to read from across the room • Room temperature display is very handy • Great for bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, offices, cottages, and guest rooms • Nice simple design • Comes in several color options • Makes a surprisingly thoughtful gift • USB charging port is convenient • Plugs into the wall for regular use • Battery backup helps keep the time stored if power goes out • Snooze bar on top is easy to tap • Brightness is adjustable • Beep alarm starts softer and gets louder • Great if you want a simple clock that is easy to see and easy to use Things to be aware of: • This is not battery-only and needs to be plugged into an outlet for normal use • The backup battery does not run the full display like regular outlet power • The alarm is a beep alarm only, not radio or music • It has one alarm, not multiple alarms • It does not have a weekday-only alarm setting • If you do not want it to go off on weekends, you need to turn the alarm off manually • The alarm on/off switch is on the back, so it can be a little awkward when half-asleep • The room temperature is helpful, but I would use it as a general room indicator, not a perfect thermometer • The display is dimmable, but even the lowest setting may still be a little bright for very light-sensitive sleepers • I personally find the lowest setting still a little bright at night • When needed, I set it face down on the nightstand so I am not tempted to keep checking the time • You can also press the snooze/display button to light it temporarily when you want to check the time Overall: This is one of my favorite clocks because the auto-set time feature is so convenient. I love not having to manually reset it for daylight saving time, and I also like that I can unplug it, move it, plug it back in, and the time sets correctly again. The room temperature display is another feature I use all the time. It is simple, easy to read, and useful enough that I have bought several for my own home and cottage and have given many as gifts. Just know before buying that it is a plug-in clock, has a single beep-only alarm, and the display may still be a little bright for some sleepers even on the lowest setting. Great value for the money in my opinion.

As advertised, the clock came up with the correct time as soon as I plugged it in. The time is easy to read from a distance and the brightness has a wide range of adjustments. It can even be set to automatically dim at 9 PM and resume full brightness at 7 AM. The clock has a quality look and I even ordered a second one for my other bedroom. Well worth the money.

I am editing this review to completely turn it around. I liked everything about this alarm except the fact that the display wouldn't stay lit, almost as if it wasn't plugged in. I tried different cables and chargers to no avail. HOWEVER... I didn't try other outlets. It turns out my outlet was a switched outlet but not labeled as such. Once I turned it on, the alarm display worked like a champ. The previous bad review was NOT the fault of the alarm clock itself! Here's the original review: I would REALLY like to like this alarm clock. The display is big, clear and contains all kinds of useful information (I got the one that displays the time, date, day of the week, temperature, humidity level and even the phase of the moon). It's easy to set up and relatively easy to use with two exceptions. First, the alarm clock on/off switch is in the rear and a little difficult to find when the alarm wakes you. Second, the description in the web page and the instructions in the manual imply that the display is on all the time when you have it plugged in (as opposed to running only off the batteries) and that it dims automatically at 9:00 PM and brightens at 7:00 AM. This isn't the case. This acts as if it is not plugged into the power adapter in that the display lights up if you touch a button and then turns off after a few seconds. The instructions show how to set the brightness level but following those instructions makes no difference. There is no "brighter in the day, dimmer at night" automatic display. It's just on and off and only on for a few seconds. That makes it kind of useless to me as I use it as the main clock in my master bedroom. I thought perhaps the power adapter was bad or maybe the USB 2.0-to-2.0 cable was bad and sent the clock back for another one. The second one came and does the same exact thing. Maybe the adapter and/or cable is bad on both of them. They could be just old as USB 2.0 cables have largely been supplanted by USB 3.0 reversible cables. In either case, I find the clock useless and am sending it back for a refund. I guess I'll start searching for another clock again. Disappointing. Cannot recommend.

Je ne l'ai pas acheté comme réveil mais comme horloge dans mon cinéma maison pour remplacer les appareils qui n'ont même plus d'affichage de l'heure - comme avec les magnétoscopes, récepteurs de télé numérique, etc. Je voulais un appareil que je n'aurais pas à ajuster après une panne électrique.
