I have an old 1950s pot-belly stove that has been sitting on a porch within yards of saltwater for several decades. It accumulated a complete layer of surface rust- every nook and cranny. Rather than go the chemical route to get it to bare steel, I used this media and it did great even with a cheap-cheap gun but at a steady 120psi. Too big for my little cabinet, so did not recover any of it. Not too fine, pretty true to the grit rating. It took almost exactly the entire 25lbs to do the inside and outside of the stove, I’m guessing about 25 square feet total, and that may be a good gauge- 1lb to 1sq ft. Depends on you gun and pressure. You’ll be wasting this at anything lower than 90psi, definitely not going to work with a compressor that can’t keep up. If you’ve never done sandblasting without a cabinet, you will want a full-face respirator and arm-length gloves. Something hooded pulled over your head too. Seal yourself up like you are about to be kicked out an airlock into space. The sand will get in everywhere and you definitely don’t want to be breathing the dust.

After using for a few weeks, I can say that I really like this media. It cuts nicely and burns through old paint and rust much better than the old nickel slag I'd been using for years. Not a lot of dust either.

Fast delivery and it works well

Used this on an antique steel bed frame to get the years of old paint off so I could give it a fresh new look. This stuff did the trick VERY nicely at around 95lbs using a hand held unit with a hopper on top. It stripped the four or five layers of paint very quickly with not much do over. I have to mention that I used a chemical stripper first then sand blasted the detail work and the corners where a scrapper couldn't be used and overall where the stripper left paint. LOVE THIS STUFF!

I'm giving Black Beauty five stars even though it didn't work for me. It wasn't the fault of the product. I ordered to fine of a material. The reason I give five stars is because I accidentally ordered three times and they took the other two back and refunded my money seamlessly and the product was as advertised. I made the error.

Needed but wanted better.

Very reusable and cheap in bulk. I wouldn't use it for detail work, but for bulk metal prep it was perfect.

Used this material to remove scale build up on my pool tile. Worked great. Was able to see the material at the bottom of the pool which I then vacuumed
