Great Quality and Selection The CDs arrived in excellent condition with no scratches or playback issues. Each one played clearly and delivered great sound quality. The selection offered exactly what I was looking for, and it's always a plus to have physical copies for collection and reliable playback. Whether for casual listening or adding to a music library, these CDs were a great buy. Very satisfied with the overall purchase.

Timeless Tunes on Vinyl!
This Californication vinyl is so good! The sound is rich and warm, and hearing these classic Red Hot Chili Peppers tracks on vinyl makes them feel even more alive. I love flipping through the album and soaking in the artwork while I listen. Honestly, it makes listening to music feel like a little immersive experience — total nostalgia and joy in every track! 🎶✨💖

THEIR BEST ALBUM
RHCP really find the perfect balance between, for lack of a better term, "raunchy rockers" and "slow songs." Their biggest hit up to this point was "Under the Bridge," a slow song. Fans really responded to how evocative and emotional it was. And the band was very up to being very musical and lyrical. So in CALIFORNICATION, the biggest hits are again the "slow" songs, such as "Scar Tissue," "Otherside," and the title tune. These are all great songs, with lyrics that don't really make sense, but nonetheless conjur interesting images and evoke a mood. Anthony Kiedis's singing is the strongest and most emotional its been up to this point (although that improves on their next album, BY THE WAY). Yet the album also rocks. "All Around the World" got the most radio play, and it really gets the album off to a strong, rocking start. It shows the band at its jammin', noise-making best, and features plenty of "raunchy" material. Later, we can enjoy such "raunchy" tunes as "Get on Top," "I Like Dirt" (a personal favorite) and "Purple Glove." There are other great songs in both genre's, and the final feeling one is left with is of spending a great hour with one of the great rock bands out there, capable of handling any style and making it their own. All the musicianship is outstanding. These guys just get better and better as purveyors of their instruments. Each album shows positive evolution, which is great, and oh so rare. The standout, as always, is Flea. His bass-playing is simply incredible. He puts almost everyone out there to utter and complete shame. If you can only own one RHCP album...this is THE ONE!!

The Best RHCP Album
Californication is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's amazing, and shows RHCP at their best. It's a perfect mix of early and late Chili Peppers- still has some funk, but is mellowed down just enough. The early funk is pretty good, but is also kind of hard-core. Two thirds of the songs in the later albums are pop. But Californication is golden. The entire album is definitely planned out very well- the ups and downs of the different songs is easy to follow. The first notes of Around the World set the standard for something crazily fun. After listening to the furiously funky Get on Top, you want something a little softer like the song Californication. Any other rock album would make you scream over the silence that follows the end of the music- something hard and heavy can't just die away abruptly. A lot of bands make the endings of their last songs go on forever, which is repetitively boring because it's just sound- rock sound that doesn't fade off properly. But Road Trippin' is a perfect way to end an album- it's a little softer and falls off into silence just right. Or onto another album... All of the music is incredibly solid. It never really seems to be either too busy or too simplistic. There is no unneccessary noise, and all of the instruments come together into something that sounds amazing- nobody consistantly outshines somebody else. But there is energy in the music- something that makes everything more alive and relatable. And that is what makes an album like Californication shine.

Certain tracks skip
* update * Giving this a 5 as the skipping was due to my player and not the album. Like others have posted, certain tracks skip and aren’t enjoyable to listen to. I am going to try and clean the record but if no luck, then I’ll be returning this.

Must Buy Vinyl!!
One of the best vinyl purchases I've made in a long time. Look, I have a fairly high end system. A Pro -Ject XPression Classic, Cadenza Bronze ($4,000) cartridge, B&W 802 speakers, McIntosh MA7900 Amp (using that preamp) I'm a music fanatic. I don't know what version vinyl that ppl here are getting shipped to them, or if they're buying from the marketplace or what?!?!?!! This is widely known as a horrible original mix/mastered 1999 cd & vinyl. There are still 1999 new vinyl copies being sold & circulated. THIS is the incredible remastered 2012 (comparatively) vinyl cut by Bernie Grumdman. I ordered Prime, cleaned, put on turntable tonight....& WOW!! I'll never listen to the 99 cd again....EVER!! That was a distorted compressed mess. This vinyl is flat, glossy & sounds perfect. Order from Amazon only. Not any cheaper Marketplace seller. If it's the 2012 - you're golden. I've never heard this sound so good. I took a chance. Didn't want to believe the bad vinyl reviews. Glad as hell I took the chance. Buy with confidence.

Skips on certain tracks.
Delivery was fine (2x). I had only listened to disc 1 so far, and there were skips on the "Californiacation" track. It skips about an entire bar in the 2nd chorus. Love the album, but this vinyl is a bit wack. It's got other sections where it does skip, or has a decent amount of static sound to it. Don't know if I missed the time period for a replacement(I didn't). edit: The replacement had the same issues. Seems like a bad batch of vinyls for this album. I attached a video this time to showcase some of the problems on just "Californiacation" alone.

First off I must say that for a reason or another, this band never interested me. I am shy to admit it, but is it something stupid such as I didn't like the name of the band? or the marketing in general of the band, I just don't know. How ever at one time it seem that on those music show every years, for a while, red hot chili peper was the winner all the way. I thought I must give them a chance. at last I bought an album call what hits? something like this, and I was not impress at all, and I have a open mind about music. It was a mystery to me. Many years later I went to a friend and listen the double cd stadium arcadium, sorry for the spelling. I thought it was the greatest thing I listen for a long time. at last, I could see mostlightly all the great albums that I have miss when they were at their pick. Now, I was looking at the mini sleeve on amazon, right a way on the first page , I see this one, good price, never did ear about it, but I thought I would take a chance. The 2 first minutes or so, I thought I was going to be let down because it sounded a bit like rap music. And I ate that. but the music went in a different direction and I was taken back again, what a great sound! take about being creative, meaning, they don't sound like anyone else, i find the sound unique to them. It mean a lot to me. Being blind, I have no idea if it is a band with different race for lack of better word, forgive me. It does at time for sure remind me what could be mexican sound, but I don't know. But the cd is fantastic, when I think it will be this way, it turn around and a different kind of sound arrive and at the same time you have the angle tghat yes you do know it is red hot chili peppers. so, no I was not lucky on my first one, but I am ready to bet that most of their albums are great. so, time to time I will remember to get more. but this one in many ways is even better than stadium arcadium, I love the sound of the guitar, maybe more agressive... some what more heavy in it's own way. If I had the band in the front of me I would say, sorry to have snob you for so long base on some stupid things, like they say don't judge a book by the cover. I am very happy with this edition.
