Pretty Good, Especially When Paired w/ the Nut Butters
I eat a lot of high-protein oatmeals. The RX is one of my favorites. Flavor-wise, it’s ok. Not the best one as far as flavor goes, but not bad. (Once you get the highly processed, sugar-laden oatmeals of your childhood out of your system, you can appreciate the healthier versions.) It’s definitely not sweet, but it’s not terribly bland. My favorite aspect of the RX oats is the amount of added sugar (none), which is something that I carefully consider when reading labels. Most other high-protein oatmeals have a lot of added sugar (which is why they taste better). I love the limited ingredients and transparency in the RX Oats. I use my Keurig on the 6oz cup setting to fill my oatmeal cup, then add a tablespoon of chia seeds before steeping to increase the fiber and protein. One thing that I also like to do is add a packet of the RX nut butters to my oatmeal after it has steeped- this greatly intensifies the flavor factor, adds another 9 grams of protein plus some healthy fats, and improves the consistency. It feels more like a dessert or indulgence. This addition, along with the chia seeds, puts the oatmeal into a calorie range of just under 500 calories, with 24 grams of protein, 47g of carbs, 25g fat, and 13g fiber (depending, of course, on which oatmeal and nut butters you choose) with no added sugar. It’s super filling, and fits nicely into my calorie goals for the day while giving me lots of plant-based protein and half of my fiber for the day. My favorite pairings include the Chocolate oatmeal flavor with the Chocolate Peanut Butter, and the Maple flavor with the Maple Almond Butter.

Not worth the cost
Good but wayyyyyy overpriced.

Frankly, gross
I'm already a big fan of RX bars and a decent fan of the nut butters. These oats looked to be the next good thing. Nope. These are, frankly, gross. I've only prepared them with hot water (there are 3 ways to prepare on the packaging: hot water, microwave, overnight oats). The texture is absolutely awful. Limp, tasteless oats. I only had one spoonful before I dumped the whole thing. You're better off preparing your own steel cut oats and flavoring it with RX nut butters, which is delicious btw.

Good but expensive
Very good taste. A little dry so I added milk. I like the fact that all the ingredients are good for you but they are just too expensive for what you get.

Great way to start the day
I work out 5-6 times a week in the morning, and this oatmeal has become a hard requirement to start the day. Not only has it helped replace the unhealthy oatmeals of the past, but it has added some much needed protein to my meal. One last HUGE factor for me is that I have celiac disease, and finding a healthy yet tasty oatmeal has been a huge challenge. There are luckily more and more options, but they do not necessarily tailor to what I am working for. Thank you RX for making these, please keep it up!!!

Try it before you buy it
The texture is gross and the product is so thick you can eat your oatmeal with a fork... even with twice the water I microwaved, I’m going to try overnight and hot water method is recommended, I threw away the chocolate after making it because it was so gross and I was thinking chocolate would be better. Love the other RX products this one just doesn’t do it for me. Buy the smallest amount you can to try and better yet get one from a friend that wants to get rid of theirs...anyone?

Absolutely phenomenal product
As a bariathlete, it’s difficult for us to find the perfect pre-workout/breakfast combo that’s not only safe and healthy, but amazingly delicious. I made one on the microwave and it reminded me of a homemade French toast bake. This is my absolute favorite thing to eat now. Thank you RX!

Not bad but not the best tasting
My family enjoys the RX bars, so I though I'd order the oatmeal in the hopes we all enjoyed it as much as the bars. Sigh....not really. There isn't much taste at all to any of the flavors, and the texture is weird and off-putting. If you have ever mixed protein powder into regular hot oatmeal and had it clump up on you and feel grainy, then you know already the texture of this oatmeal. Even adding extra water doesn't help get rid of the funky texture created by whatever protein additive they use because it just does. not. dissolve. My husband tried adding a half a teaspoon of maple sugar, but all that did was turn it into a sweeter, still grainy, still tasteless oatmeal. This oatmeal is a healthier option to several on the market, but that's no good if the taste and texture turn people off. Mixing with yogurt helps a little (overnight oats), as does combining with another brand like Kashi or Kodiak. We will eat the rest of the box we received (well, me most likely, let's be honest) and will keep trying to improve the taste and texture without killing the nutritional value.
