Wintersteiger Ski/Snowboard Waxing Iron

Works very good.

Its an iron. It's one of those, it either works or it doesn't products. My old iron worked fine but I didn't want to continue sharing the same iron with my waxing and clothes. This one is flat and gets hot. That's fine, you don't get a parade.

This is my first wax iron to own but have borrowed them from friends. I like the dial for the heat, it is incremental to get the same setting each time. The dial feels a little loose but did not turn unintentionally while using or bumping it. Heats up fast and stands up without falling over. I (and my kids) immediately waxed 5 sets of skis and 1 snowboard. This worked great the entire time. Waxing your own equipment is a great way to get the kids invested in their sport.

Bought mine Dec 12, it just fell on the floor and broke today. It took care of our family of four skis well for the 2 seasons it lasted. I debated about trying to glue it back on to the base, but it looks too difficult to salvage and still count on it doing well. I really can't blame it braking on the craftsmanship of the iron, but I do know I dropped my old home iron a million times without breakage. I have not used a lot of ski irons so I can't compare ski iron to another - I can say I like it better than the old home iron I had used (tough to control temp and could get waaayyy to hot, wax clogged holes, base of iron would cool too quickly requiring waiting to reheat) - save for the durability issue. Not sure if I am going to get this one again or get another - price is king. Since this was my first real iron I can't say its better than others.other ski irons - but it worked for me and does the job well.

Easy to use. I was able to wax 3 of my snowboards for the first time on my own with little drama. It gets hot easily and melts the wax and spreads it on the base with no issues.

Looks and Works as described. Great product. Been looking for an Iron for awhile now been doing a lot of research and decided on this unit. Glad I did plus I dropped it once onto the floor and it still works!!!

Our whole family skiis or snowboards so I was multiple sets every week for 4 months out of the year. I ran this iron hard for 6 season, and would still be running it had I not dropped it on a concrete floor. The base is heavy enough that it holds the heat well with the coldest of waxes, even on snowboards. I now have a $150 Toko digital iron but still keep one of these as a back-up/loaner and recomend it highly.
