Nice and light, but I don't really like the pockets
In general, one thing I hate about most toiletry kits is that there's a lot of weight and space overhead associated with the structure and material of the kit itself. In recent years I have switched to just using a plain plastic lined mess bag for my toiletries. It scrunches easily, and the "kit" itself adds virtually no space or weight (since it's just a single-compartment bag). However, the downside of this approach is that everything is lumped together and I need to dig through things to find something. That's why I bought this Eagle Creek Specter version to try instead of my mesh bag. The Specter description said it was super-light, and that's true. I like that part. But it has more stiffness and structure than I hoped. So, it doesn't crunch down very easily. Unless it's very full (in which case it would be that full size anyway), you're going to lose some packing efficiency.I'm also not too thrilled with the pockets. I bought this because I got tired of having to dig for things in my mesh pouch. So having multiple pockets should be good. This bag has one pocket on the bottom, and two pockets on the top. I expected there to be a shallow pocket and a deep pocket in the top part, but they are both deep. So, there isn't a good place for tiny things. Also, it's a little hard to describe, but I feel like the pockets aren't as accessible as I would like. They feel like they don't open wide enough for their depth, or something like that. It's hard to describe, but I feel like I'm having to dig down through a small hole into something deep. That's just my feeling, and it's subtle and very subjective. Many people would say the pockets are fine, so take my comments with a grain of salt.Another odd thing is this sense that the pockets are too small for the overall size of the kit. It feels like there's a significant amount of room between the sides when you fold it together, as if I want to store things there (like I would put something between the pages of a book when I'm closing it), rather than in the pockets. Again, this is a subtle subjective feeling. There's nothing technically wrong with this kit, and I struggle to justify why I don't like it. But for whatever reason, I don't really like it. I'm wondering whether or not to return it. It's pretty expensive, so for this price I should love it. And I don't.There's a semi-stiff rectangular pad on each side to give it that rectangular structure. I'm tempted to try cutting out that pad so it's just thin material with some pockets in it. That would allow it to scrunch down, since it wouldn't have any structure. But then it might be a hard-to-use mess when it's hanging. And obviously if I cut it up, I can't return it if I still don't like it. So, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.

Needs more zippered pouches for smaller items. Also there ...
Needs more zippered pouches for smaller items. Also there is no waterproof area in this. Wirecutter rated it the highest and I bit, but one of the few times I don't agree.

A must-have for traveling!
Perfect for carrying around makeup and toiletries when traveling. This case is deceptively big and holds everything you could need. Plus, the hook allows me to hang the bag on a door handle or in the bathroom where ever I go. Its flexibility allows me to bring as much or as little as I need. I am extremely happy with the Eagle Creek product line, and this is a must-have for traveling!

Larger than Expected
I already had the larger Eagle Creek Pack It Specter hanging dopp bag, but found it to be too large for what I needed when traveling. I ordered the Wallaby because I thought it was smaller. To my surprise it really isn't that much smaller. It is well built and sturdy. I can fit shampoo, conditioner, a travel razor, tooth powder, a travel toothbrush, and all my cosmetics in it. I wish it were a bit smaller, but it does the job.

Perfect for backpacking
It has cushions so your belongings are protected, like make up. You can fit so much but it's also compact that it's easy to pack it in your suitcase. The hook also spins so you are able to hook it anywhere.

Worked Great as "Quick Access" Pack on Long Distance Trip
Great for organizing toiletries that you might want on a long distance flight. I used this for a LONG trip to Kenya from Los Angeles. It had everything I needed for the 24 hour flying with layovers - all the essentials.

Noisy but nice
Functional and well-designed, but make of a very crinkly, noisy material.
