The Quintessential Van Morrison!
If you like Van Morrison, this is the definitive CD to have. It covers his early works with Them, and some gospel and a bunch of other great songs. He can sing about anything and it sounds good. 20 cuts that are awesome!

It's good, but Don't pay $87.42!
I paid $3.58 total for this album. Mine is a 1990 Polydor issue, but it sounds pretty good to me. I then bought the Amazon downloads of Tupelo Honey and the REAL Brown Eyed Girl, because for some reason this album has the non "makin' love in the green grass" version. I had an old Moondance CD, which I don't believe contains a poor track. I have since acquired His Band And The Street Choir because I wanted the song Blue Money and I'm liking what I hear on the rest of that album. I believe this is a better than average Van Morrison collection. I know Astral Weeks is genius and 2 or 3 other albums are not to be missed, but I just don't think I need them. Oh yeah, $87.42 is the cheaper of the 2_new offerings of this album on Amazon. Go for the used variety and save your money for the remastered masterpieces, if you like this sampling of Van the Man.

Love it!
I didn't pay much attention in the 60s and 70s to pop music as I was more interested in classical music, but it was interesting to discover Van Morrison and his songs that I had heard but never realized he either wrote or made into hits as the frontman for the group Them. Songs like Gloria and Here Comes the Night I recognized but didn't know he was the singer. I love "And It Stoned Me", "Wild Night" and the rest of the tracks are good too.
