Amazing
This is an amazing drill. I used it over 3 days to cut 250 1 inch holes in 2x2 1/8 thick steel tubing. I burned through 2.5 Annulars in the process.First - let me just say that many people who get this dont understand mag drills. You will need a surface that is 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick or the magnet will not have enough force to drive through without lifting. It is clearly stated on their site and the same for every mag drill on the market. Does not matter if you have a drill with a more powerful magnet - you will need steel under the entire magnet that is as thick as 1/4 to 3/8. In my case since I was drilling 1/8 - I put a plate under the drill and clamped it to the table since the material was too thin to get a good hold. Now I also tested this drill against our Milwaukee. Interesting b/c the Mil had been used for years to punch holes through 1/2 to 1 inch steel beams. The evolution had the same magnetic strength but actually had 1 more amp . Also the throat reach provided more options as the mil was flush only which would of made the tube drilling nearly impossible. The Mil costs 3 times as much as this evolution unit. Pretty impressive. As to the oil holder - it is great. Many reviewers just dont know how to use it. Yes it is gravity fed and yes it has a switch. However, to use this properly you need to turn it off when you get enough oil around your bit and the piece you are drilling. Same as if you were pouring from a can - you wouldnt simply pour continuously on the piece.Bottom line - this mag drill is a beast and a steal for the price. The only con is the wrenches to change the shaft is not included - but I bought those on my own for 9 dollars lol. How can I complain when I got a 1200 dollar drill for 400 bucks.

Great Mag Drill
I have had this drill for a year and have put over 300 holes from 1/2" to 1-1/4" through steel and aluminum plate 1/4" to 1" thick and it has worked wonderfully. I often clamp a piece of plate steel to aluminum and attach the drill to that and overhang the end to drill, works great. The one speed RPM is 570 which is fine for steel/aluminum but I've found is too fast for titanium (and likely stainless though I haven't had to drill that with this). Most holes were vertical upright but it had no issues doing 1" holes in steel with the drill magged on sideways. I only managed to lift it off the steel base plate once when putting most of my body weight into a titanium attempt. Not recommended for that material with an annular cutter. I wish the coolant bottle attachment was better thought out, I lost the two tiny mounting screws fairly quickly. A Weldon shank twist chuck is a needed accessory but the guide rails have enough vertical height to use one. This model does not use Morse 2 taper attachments. For the price point this is a great unit.

Great value but the drill chuck is junk
Works like a champ. Magnet is strong. Drills very clean holes. I use this more than I use my Mill.4 stars because the drill chuck that came with this unit is complete JUNK. It probably has 1/8" of runout.

Great Mag Drill!
Just used this for the first time, and I am impressed! Drilled a bunch of 17/32" holes in 0.203" steel with an ordinary black oxide drill bit. It doesn't slow down. Torque is amazing. Magnet works really well. I noticed several people had issues with run-out on the shaft. I measured mine when I received it, and found it within 0.001". Beautiful tool.

Quality so-so.
Drill quality is so-so. The first drill had bad eccentricity problem with the arbor shaft. It was worse with the drill chuck attached. This is not the suppliers fault. I returned it and got a replacement unit. The replacement unit was used and was missing all the hardware and tools that was supposed to come with it. The replacement drill was better but still not what I would consider acceptable.

Nice drill .
I purchase this drill with a little hesitation but I used it for one job, about 22 !/2" holes in 1/2" steel plate.( Flitch plate for a header)It preformed really well, As well as the Evolution Annular cutters.Nice tool for the money. I think it will serve me fine as I don't drill heavy plate every day.

Major Functional Defect
Product severely defective. As soon as I turned it on, it was apparent the drill spindle had severe wobble/run-out. With the drill chuck installed, there was a clearly visible wobble that I would estimate as run-out of at least .030"-.040" at the chuck. With a drill bit (new and unused) installed, the tip of the bit was wobbling more like .050"-.060". I cannot imagine trying to drill any kind of round/precision hole with this machine. It is hard for me to envision how this machine could have shipped with the spindle...nearly 1" of solid steel...so bent or out-of-round. I saw in the other reviews that another purchaser had this same problem....so I assume this is either a recurrent major quality control problem, or I was shipped the machine returned by the prior customer. Either way....not good.I am returning it and trying a different machine from another manufacturer.

Awesome mag drill
This is a very nice mag drill for the money you spend. I looked at several an for what I needed to do this covers all my needs. The magnet is strong. It was easy to set up twist drills. There not a thing wrong with it that I can see.

Super Quality
I am a DIYer. I have waited to provide a review on this drill for about a month now, until I had a chance to use the drill. This drill was well packaged and shipped, arriving a day earlier than expected. The packaged contained all the accessories that was advertised in a very sturdy and impressive palstic storage drill case. This mag drill is a "BEAST"and performs extremely well with its low rpm but very high torque. With the right annular cutter or drill bits, it cuts through steel with ease and saves alot of time when you have numerous hole to cut. The mag base is very very strong and is simple to align the drill on any project whether the drill is placed vertically, horizontally or upside down. I am very glad I purchased the drill, it is well worth the cost.
