As an inspection mirror it is fine. As a LIGHTED inspection mirror it has a serious design error with the direction of the lighting. The light from three LEDs is directed at 90 degrees to the plane of the mirror. But in most uses of an inspection mirror the target for inspection is not at 90 to the mirror face. For most typical uses the user is sighting from around 45 degrees to the mirror and onwards towards the target also at 45 degrees. That's where the lights should be angled also, in order to illuminate the target.With the position of these LEDs, they shine mostly in the user's face - which is great for shaving but not much use for inspecting a confined area. Also I found it difficult to remove the battery compartment cover.My guess is that the designers didn't test this product in a realistic setting. I may try to modify the product so that the light is reflected away from me and towards the target.

Due to poor design, it is extremely difficult to remove the protective sleeve from the battery. Instead of having a plastic tab on the back of the mirror that is easily removable, one has to use your finger to push against a small piece of hard plastic (that is holding the mirror in place) to create enough gap to pry out the mirror in order to access the battery compartment. I wish this mirror was designed better so that the battery can be replaced with ease.

This mirror is very well made the glass and metal are good quality. The handle is sturdy even when you extend it out all the way. Be advised it's a very large mirror you won't be able to fit into tight spots but if you can get it where you need it, it's about the best mirror you can get.

This is one of the few 1 star reviews I've ever written. This think would be great if someone designed the LED cover to actually work. It's small, nice size overall for tight spaces. The LED light would be ideal except that it is truly junk as designed. The snaps that hold the cover in place are so brittle they brake on the first use. The 1st one I received was broken straight and just re-shipped to me without a care. The second literally broke while trying to get to battery plastic sheild so the LED could be turned on. I was super careful and the retaining tab just snapped like pretzel i.e. no force applied at all and it broke.Redesign the LED cover's retention clips and you might have a winner. Until then, avoid this at all costs!!!! It is a waste of time!!

The LED light is on a plastic cap that fits over the back of the mirror. The cap is held in place by two plastic clips that are supposed to snap over two corresponding "ears" on the metal case of the mirror (see pictures). But the ears on the item I received did not protrude far enough out for the clips to snap over them, so the cap simply would fall off of its own weight. And yes, I was sure it was pushed in all the way. I was able to fix it by taking needle-nose pliers and bending the ears out far enough to securely catch the clips. Ok design, bad execution, and clearly zero quality control. Save your money and buy something else.

I use this to do assembly inspections in cramped spaces, the adjustable length is great. Ullman makes another one that is half the length. Replacement mirrors are available. This is rebranded as Mac and Proto.Make sure to fold the mirror facing away from the handle for storage, as I have broken two when the mirror was facing towards the handle.

It's well built and sturdy. I had a classic older style one with a much thinner stalk, that broke quite easily one day. This one seems much sturdier.The LED lights are good, better than nothing, but not perfect. It takes some practice to get used to using it where the lights point at what your'e trying to see, and where they don't blind you if you accidentally look at them, and are thereby temporarily blind. If you expect magical perfection, it won't give you that, but if you treat it as a tool that takes a little patience to aim and use, you'll be happy. 4 stars.TIPS: OK, I learned the hard way... it's pretty easy to put this down face down and forget to turn it off, meaning you have to replace the batteries. That's not the products fault, of course, that's user error. So be careful, remember to turn off!

This mirror is such poor quality, I almost threw it in the trash instead of returning it in order to help prevent it being re-sold to someone else. The mirror head case is sloppy and rattles, the mirror slips up and down in it's retainer, and the telescoping portion is very hard to open and is rough when extending it.I gave this one star because I couldn't go any lower.
