Great overview of festivals
Was a hit with my 9y and 12y old. Good overview of multiple festivals in India. Paper quality of the book is good, thick and glossy. There is a short description of many festivals. It’s a slim book, so will not overwhelm reluctant readers. Good for introducing children and giving them a taste of India’s cultural diversity.

Good Intro to Indian festivals
The book has relevant info on festivals which is better than other books i had researched. Its ideal to read to a 4 - 5 yr old child to learn about why we celebrate and what all is done in the festival. Its also prized well.

Good book for kids above 5 years...
It's a very good book 📖 for kids above 5 years because it's in too descriptive elaboration for kids below 5... though it is mentioned on the back cover that age group is 8+ ( it should be on front cover page... )I have given 3 stars because of it does not serve my purpose, at present, for my little one of 3 years... kid of her age needs more of pics (like on this book's front cover page)... still will try to describe some main festivals in my way through book...Author, Ms Sonia Mehta, has covered 50 festivals of our country and I really appreciate her writing style ...Parents can go for it for sure... I too will give this book to my LO later 😊... Good addition to our collection 👍🏻📚...

Very useful
India is a land of diversity and traditions. If it were not for this country, the people wouldn’t have understood the essence of spending time with their loved ones, bonding over any occasion and celebrating the victory of good over evil. In every household, it is a mandatory ritual to educate the children about the history of our country and elucidate the reasons behind celebrating so many festivals. No doubt that the children understand better when they experience the situation but allowing them to learn something from the cold print is not bad either.Sonia Mehta (I love her for the kind of series she releases for young children) has come up with another book that doesn’t involve mathematical skills or analytical skills. This book is about the festivals of India. Right from Lohri that is celebrated in the month of January to Christmas celebrated in the month of December, this book briefly describes the history, reason and the rituals that govern the festivals. Collation of information about 60 festivals, this book is very informative, colourful and interactive as well. It is well-suited for the likes of children.Overall, Festivals of India is a must-buy for all the parents who want their children to learn about the celebrations at a young age.
