Looks good and works well
Great outlet cover. I have this on my back porch where the outlet is exposed to the elements. Went through a few heavy rains now and the outlet is dry and safe. There is a small tab on the bottom left side that you need to find to open the cover. You can secure the cover there too with a lock too. Cover spring is strong. Well made and the paint finish is nice too. Easy to DIY install.

Nice except for the paint
This cover works great for installing "decorator" style and GFCI receptacles, and it even does a pretty good job at keeping rain and snow out when the receptacle is in use. As an example, we plug Christmas lights into these and they remain "open" with plugs inserted from Thanksgiving until just after New Years with no issues. I've also left heavy extension cords plugged into them in warmer weather for days, including rainy days, without worry (although I'm sure I'd find some discolored receptacle screws after enough years if I checked). However, the paint quickly fades and becomes chalky looking after some time out in the direct sun. The covers I have under our deck where they're always in the shade still look great, but those exposed to the sun for several hours a day have definitely weathered. However, they're structurally sound and continue to work great. They are definitely cheaper than the competition, so if appearance isn't critical, they're a good choice. One day perhaps I'll paint those that need it... for now, they're doing what I need them to.

Well made and looks great, but not waterproof so use on in a protected area...
Very nice quality and appearance, comes with several adapters/gaskets for switch and outlet applications as I recall.I would only use this in a 'protected' area such as a carport or covered patio area and I would not position it vertically as I would not trust it to seal from elements in that orientation. It does have a thick rubbery gasket under the flip up cover that does conform to the switch or outlet, however I think if used vertically that some water would make its way in... But if your outlet or switch is horizontally oriented as this item is shown in the picture, then this works perfectly, especially with the solid drip edge across the top!I'd say this isn't really 'weatherproof' but more like 'splash resistant' and 'keeps bugs out'. Overall I'm pleased with it and that I didn't have to make a 30 min round trip to the big orange store to get this little guy!

The ideal outdoor outlet cover
I previously had a bulky cover over my outdoor outlets, anytime I tried to open something would break. I switched to the Bell outdoor cover (horizontal) as my outlets are horizontal. I had a big rainstorm with something plugged into the wall with the new covers, the item continued to function, no issues whatsoever.

The door comes off to install.
Maybe you all knew this, but I have struggled with these weather proof covers for years, trying to hold the door open and get those tiny screws to go in. Not long ago I realized the doors are held in place by clip springs, you have to push pretty hard with the door partially closed to compress them, but the door comes off. Now it is easy to install, and reverse the procedure to reinstall the door. BUT stick one end of the door in first to hold the first (if there are two springs) and use a tiny screw driver to hold the second till you trap is and compress. If the instructions don't explain this it is because replacing the door in the vertical position takes a little imagination.

Good for price
Seems good. Apparently UL listed but didn't actually check. Metal seems like a softer cheaper metal that might break over time after opening and closing, but for the price cant really complain and should last awhile none the less. Comes with decor style face plate or old style so can be used with either or. Can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Also has a small pass threw that you can put a small lock on it to lock closed. * Note these style covers are not water resistant when opened/have something plugged in, only when closed.
