0130 Stainless Gandhi Can Opener

We've had so many can openers break on us that we decided to try this manual type. It works excellently! It is hardly that much more work and the lack of wheels/mechanisms in this can opener means it will last longer. We love it and will be buying this type going forward.

Our can openers kept breaking over time. Got tired of that so got this old school opener instead.It is very sturdy and easy to use. Takes a minute for a newbie to learn how to use it. That's it, not rocket science. No power open, no battery needed. No wifi connective and it doesn't respond to Alexa. It just opens cans.

I feel like I have bought a new crank style can opener every year for the past 10 years. They just always rust or break in some way. Or the disc blades go dull. Finally we just completely gave up on that whole style of can opener and returned to the more tried and true basic design. This Japanese can opener feels like something from decades past -- made of nothing but stainless steel and built to last a lifetime. The handle is large enough that you have plenty of leverage compared to a portable tool. It's completely simple to rinse clean, and just like silverware, it won't rust.It's sad that the world no longer produces a decent swing-away style opener, but the Japanese are always reliable for building quality things that work as they should and last as they should.

This is quite simply THE BEST Can Opener on the market (PERIOD)!!! Its stainless steel & very sturdy. I've used it at least once every week since I bought it & I've had NO PROBLEMS, it opens cans very, very easily. Your money will be well spent if you buy this. 5/5-Stars...{Update} I bought this can opener back in 2020, its now June of 2023 and its still sharp with Zero rust. I used it at least 1-2 times a week to open Canned Chicken, and the cans it opens are Thick. I Highly recommend this!!

This can opener works on the same principle as the original P38 Army model but is far easier to use. However it still demands more strength than most other manual can openers. Like the original, it leaves an extremely jagged cut.The advantage of this stainless steel tool is its simplicity, reliability and ease of cleaning. It is very well-made and should last practically forever !If I was forced to live in a bunker with only canned food available; and was only allowed one can opener, this would be it.

it is sturdy and durable but a little awkward to use

I've oft struggled with the shoddy construction on those can openers with twisty knobs that never seem to be capable of cleanly opening a can, so I ordered this one since it had a more sensible seeming mechanism. I also had something that was similar (though not quite the same) growing up, so this looked to be a good fit.The grip on this is comfortable, easily allowing one to leverage strength to open a can, and while I would ideally have liked a better fulcrum around which to pierce a can with, a few tries will usually result in this locking into place, ready to cut. I haven't seen any wear and tear, and the material seems fairly hardy, so I can see this lasting several years, which is just what I was looking for.
