McVities Digestive Dark 266g, Chocolate, 28.22 Oz (Pack of 3)

I know many people have complained about the chocolate being melted on delivery so I do not order these in hot weather. Mine were absolutely perfect. Delicious, fresh and not melted together. I would not hesitate to order them again but not in the summer!

I went ahead and ordered these after reading lots of reviews (both positive and negative). I love these so much I figured I would take the risk. So, they came in a lightly padded envelope (with my other Amazon item) enclosed all together in a plastic bag. Nothing to protect them from bumping into each other or from general handling by sorters and delivery people. Needless to say, the cookies in the package I opened were crumbly in areas. Oh, and may were stuck together too. All this I could have dealt with had the cookies actually been dark chocolate! Please look at the photo of one of the dark chocolate I had on hand (purchased at Providore in Portland when visiting there a few weeks ago). Clearly that is dark chocolate and the other is, I dunno, dark milk chocolate? I broke one in half figuring I should test it to be sure and, yep, not dark chocolate. Very disappointing! And not returnable! But, hey, I knew it was a crap shoot...maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones that receives what they ordered. Intact. Unfused. Good luck!

Excellent taste. Just a little breakage

These are wonderful. Only problem i encountered is they werr delivered on a hot day and left at a side door. I didn't realize they were there until later and all the chocolate was melted everywhere. Only choice was to freeze them and it almost took a chain saw to get them apart. Suggest buying them in cooler weather.

These are delicious and a perfect, easy on the stomach bed time snack. The chocolate flavor is good quality, rich and dark.

Into our second of three bundles of three purchased. Again the biscuits in this bundle arrived broken and crumbly. Not worth the money.

I have nothing but good things to say about these biscuits (cookies). My only complaint is how they're shipped, and I don't think I'm alone in this frustration.First the good things. Our family loves McVities products. Their Hobnobs are fantastic but the Digestives are our go to after dinner, or just a snack, treat. The biscuit/cookie is similar to a graham cracker flavor and consistency with a dark chocolate coating on one side. I don't know how to describe the difference in the chocolate flavor compared to other American made chocolate but my wife just says the British have refined the art of cookie making and their flavors are just better. Take that as you may. Regardless, they are just a really good treat no matter how you slice it.Now the bad. The cookies are necessarily what I would call brittle but they're also not exactly made of teflon. So when they're shipped they should have a little protection to make sure they all arrive in one piece. Amazon ships them as a package of three, which each individual package is only encased in a plastic wrapper and vacuum sealed together then placed into a bubble wrap envelope. This is not enough to ensure your biscuit/cookies are protected from the rough and tumble of shipping from wherever they originate to wherever you are. What you end up getting when they arrive at your front door is a loose collection of mostly whole biscuit/cookies coated in the powder of those less fortunate biscuit/cookies that didn't survive the trip. DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST.Our local grocery store carries some of the McVities products but not the Dark Chocolate Digestives so ordering them from Amaon, which comes to roughly $4 per package (not the 3 pack) is about a $1 less than what our store charges for the Milk Chocolate. If I knew these items would arrive well packaged and come intact every time I would easily order these on a regular basis. But as it is, and how they slap-dash the delivery, I'm very apprehensive about ordering them again this way. Which is really, really sad.

All three packages were totally crushed into crumbs. Apparently this item is not replaceable, so it's just a huge waste. Crumbs all over inside of box. Definitely I don't recommend.
