Golden Rose Nail Whitening Pencil

I used to love the Sally Hansen simple white pen for my nails but it looks like they discontinued it, which is too bad. You could just wet it and slide it under your nail, and they'd look great with a sheer coat of polish. I was hoping this one would be the same. but whenever I use it, the tip breaks. It's really poor quality and I should have returned it. I would not recommend this product at all. I'd love for Sally Hansen to restore the simple old white pen (I'm not a Sally Hansen representative, just like their old product).

This works well for under nail tips

Just as expected. This is a white pencil that you apply to the underneath part of your nail. It will not make a yellow dingy nail bright. But if you have clean Nails you might be able to soak them into a little bit of bleach and put this underneath and it will give you a white nail tip. With a couple of coats of Polish You couldn't possibly tell that it was anything different than a manicure you would have done in the shop for $25. If you have nice nails this will make them even nicer. As far as sharpening is concerned you have to be very careful about sharpening it I sharpened mine but you don't sharpen it to a point of a pencil. You sharpen it enough to get it underneath the nail. Use a new pencil sharpener a little one just like the kids use when going to school. My only issue is that this is only available online I couldn't find anything like this in a drugstore or nail shop or a beauty supply store anywhere thousands of nail colors and nail chips but not something this simple maybe it's just a little too old fashioned. But sometimes old fashioned is good.

I have looked for this item at various outlets. One was outrageously high for an item that once was readily available very inexpensively at drugstore nail care counters. This one is pretty good, though not as easy to apply as the "old timey" ones. I did get it to whiten under my nails, but it took some work. On the plus side, it has lasted longer than the old, softer version. Overall, I'm please to have found it and to be able to have a french manicure look without painting one on top of nails. This can be used with or without nail polish.

I like this pencil because it whitens the nail lightly giving a more natural look. If you want a bright white look this can be achieved by heating the tip of the pencil for 2-3 seconds.I'm terrible at painting my nails so this enables me to wear them with just a clear coat and feel confident they look great and natural. Fake nails are great for ppl who prefer that look, but I can't help thinking natural is ALWAYS more attractive if you put the time and effort into caring for them. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that some, not all, of the whitening disappears with hand washing giving the nail a blotchy appearance. For that reason I may get another for my handbag, but even then I'm not sure I'll want or remember to reapply after washing. I've used other brands that did not so easy wash away.

I think it does what it is supposed to do. I think it is my finger nails. The white that goes under your nails was hard to get under the nail. The top was easy but trying to get close to the skin was difficult.

In this era of DIY manicures, I'm trying to make my nails look acceptable without colored polish. I remembered that my mom had always used a white pencil, so I thought I'd try it. It seemed to be ok, but not great at first. However, once the point was gone, I couldn't get an adequate point again with any of the sharpeners I own.I am probably expecting too much.

Honestly it didn’t help me get my nails whiter really. It’s more like makeup for your nails I would say, or helpful for cleaning them. If the free edge of your nails are very transparent then maybe this will help more to make them appear whiter and brighter, but for me it didn’t make a large difference.

Crappy, cheap didn’t stain white not worth the money
