Pentair 270077 Gear Replacement Set ComPool CVA-24 Pool and Spa Valve Actuator, Set of 3

The gear teeth on my previous actuator wore down and stopped spinning. My pool guy quoted me $400 for a new actuator and installation. I bought these, took apart the old one, replaced the gears after lubing with grease, and it works like new. Try this before replacing yours if the motor is turning but the gears won’t. Just make sure you take pictures as you disassemble it so it goes back together the same way.

Would have given 5 stars but the packaging was lousy. Gears banging around loose. Fortunately they are inherently tough. Good kit to repair a valve actuator Pentair/Compool CVA-24. Installation a bit tricky. Need to completely disassemble the actuator. Beats $250 for new part. Top o-ring ($1 value) failed on unit allowing water to get in and corrode the gears. This kit completely replaces all gears.

I noted my valve was skipping/clicking and diagnosed that these gears were damaged. Ordered these and they are the exact replacement needed. For those with a bit of mechanical savvy, it is fairly easy to open the actuator and replace these gears. Saved me the $400-$500 it would cost to replace the whole unit! These fit perfectly in the CVA-24T x 180deg Rotation actuator by Pentair.

They fit perfectly in the pentair automatic actuator. Easy to install. Greased them up and it worked.

Good replacement for worn gears. If you hear or see the gears skipping it is time to replace the gears. Not simple but doable if you are a DIY. Do not pinch wires when reassembling.

One of my CVA-24T valve actuators failed. I expected to have to replace the entire actuator at $145-150, but found this gearset at $33. It is an exact replacement for the gears inside the unit.There are no seals or o-rings with this set, which are recommended to replace with re-assembly. I was unable to find replacement seals, but coated the original seals with silicone grease.

NOT THAT HARD TO CHANGE AFTER FINDING AN EXPLODED VIEW OF THE ACTUATOR. THE CASH SAVINGS WAS WELL WORTH THE TIME. ABOUT A HALF HOUR OF WORK. IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN, IT WOULD BE ABOUT 15 MINUTES.
