Love love love!!
First time every purchasing Merrill's. I go hiking quite often and never really had the right shoes. My boyfriend swears by his pair of Merrill's so I thought I'd try them out for a back country camping trip we were going on.As soon as I tried them on, they felt amazing. I have flat/wide feet so the arch support was perfect and with thick socks I still had some toe wiggle room in the sides. I love how breathable they are yet don't make my feet cold.On my trip, fresh out of the box, I put the shoes to the test. (I know, risky for brand new shoes). 4 days, 20 mile total hike and I am impressed!! Going through rocks, leaves, pine straw, I didn't slide once! The support by my ankle really helped as well. To my surprise there was no rubbing and no blisters. These shoes were well worth the money and now I can see why my boyfriend raves about this brand!

Recommended but select your size carefully
Pros1. well constructed, very stable2. light weight, each shoe weighs ~one pound3. it hasn't caused any blisters after I walked in them for 4 hours each day for three connective days; nor have I experienced any pain/discomfort in my foot, leg or muscleNeither positive nor negative1. As with most merrell shoes, the front is more tapered than other brands. My regular size is 7 to 7+1/2 with Adiddas. For Yokota 2, I ended up getting a 8+1/2; the toe box for 8 was too narrow. Previously I had made the mistake of buying a pair Moab 2 at my "regular" size (7). That pair pinched my toes and bruised my toe nails. because I didn't wear them early enough, I couldn't return or exchange them for the right fit. I ended up donating a brand new pair of hiking boots to Goodwill.2. Out of the box, my pair looked "old" because of the dark grey color. The plus side is they probably will hide dirty better than lighter colors.bottom line, comfortable shoes, no break-in was necessary

Recommend very comfortable
Interesting shoe. Normally wear a size 8, got the 8.5 and they are exactly what I wanted. I have a bunion, various aches, issues and my big toes are ingrown prone if the toe box is too tight. I’d been wearing an orthopedic shoe brand for 5+ years, but the last of them gave out, they are no longer available. After searching endlessly I chose these shoes after seeing a pair at a friend’s home. These Merrell Women’s Yotoka 2 hiking sneakers were comfortable straight out of the box. They feel a bit like their half hiking half slipper, weird but definitely comfortable. I likely could wear the size 8, but with the need of the roomy toe box I am very happy with the 8.5. I will give them a good waterproof spray treatment as I work walking outside, dry feet are really important.

Merrell's NEVER fail!
Merrell's are my forever shoe for everything. I have hardware in my left foot from a bad break and surgery 8 years ago and have constant pain from it but Merrells always give me the best support of any shoe I've ever owned. I also have high arches and Merrell's have good arch support for me. They last a long time and I have several pair. I will always be a Merrell fan.

Fits like a glove
I loved everything, I can't remember ever having a brand new pair of shoes that fit this perfectly (Ever). Typically there is a breaking in period which varies for everyone. You know what I'm talking about that time where you tell yourself the shoe is slowly comforming to your feet but it's actually the other way around. These are Super comfy no tight spots which isn't the norm for me since my feet are borderline wide. I will have to look into more shoes from this brand.

Not happy
Love the look of the shoe but it was to small. I have never worn bigger than a sz 8 but my toes were so squeezed I had to do a return. Of course now the shoes are $20 more than what I paid so I am Not at all happy that I couldn't just do an exchange for a bigger size. Oh and I got charged $5 for returning them. :(

Amazing comfy hiking shoes
Very comfortable and are true to the size. My daughter has been wanted to have one of these and it’s just what the description says and they delivered super fast.

Extremely Well Made Shoe
Merrell products do not lack of comfort or quality. The Women's Yokota 2 Hiking Shoe ran about a 1/2 size to large for me. The heel slipped and the wide toe box was too wide - both probably because this shoe seems to run 1/2 too large. Even with my hard plastic orthodics inserted under the removable sole insert, the shoe was too large. Otherwise it was a comfortable fit. The padded ankle area was comfortable. I cannot comment on their arch support as I need orthodics no matter what. I really liked the shoe and would recommend them, but returned them for a different model.

I was sent the wrong size
I ordered size 7½ but received a size 7.This is an unfortunate mistake. The shoe is too short of course. Otherwise, well made and solid, though not as stiff as the Merrell Moab 2 that I wore for the first time today.I would say that this shoe is a perfect shoe for someone who likes the stability of a good walking/hicking shoe without the tightness and rigid sensation of the Moab 2

Excellent walking/hiking shoe
This is my second pair of Merrell hiking shoes, and whereas the Siren Edge completelyrevolutionized my sense of what a hiking shoe can offer, the Yakota is just plain great. That's still saying a lot. This is a comfortable walking shoe with good tread and excellent support. The design is not quite as streamlined as the Siren Edge, and feels just a bit bulkier, while feeling less roomy inside. But I can still recommend this shoe to anyone. It's just that Merrell utterly blew me away the first time, setting an impossibly high standard.

Very good looking
Runner has a heel tab to pull on the runner, a nice bottom grip that is raised but smoother with designs, nice grey black laces, Side and top mesh is dry, so feet didn't get wet, fit perfect, great for spring to winter and right into summer hiking, like an all season runner, nice for dress mostly for me, definitely a looker but comfortable. Merrell never disappoints. The color is a mix of most black with water/snow sealing for feet, and silver or grey color that compliments the entire runner. I wore them 9 hours and forgot I had them on in the house. Comfortable.

They are NOT waterproof
Worst Merrills I’ve ever wasted money on. They are NOT waterproof … back from an 10km hike, and maybe 1/2km was across some very short, but dewy, grass … so just very light moisture … and my feet and socks were absolutely soaked.Purchased last fall but I have only just started wearing them so cannot return them. Won’t be buying Merrell again, that’s for sure.

Not sure actually
I sent them back only for the simple reason they weren't waterproof thought they were. The sizing was perfect I wear a size 6 and they fit like a glove with room in toes which I liked as I have bunion issues, not at side but right at the top of toe. Think they would be a good pair if waterproofed.
