BP4 SSDs are over provisioned featuring improved Random Read/Write performance and IOPS, extended performance endurance (no slow down no matter how much data you put on it), prolonged drive life, reliability, and low power consumption at the unequaled price to performance ratio synonymous with MyDigitalSSD Bullet Proof SSDs. Backwards compatible with SATA II applications; let the BP4 increase your productivity up to 70X by eliminating the bottle-neck of stock hard drives. About the Controller MyDigitalSSD BP4 SSDs feature the Phison S-Module III S8 controller to deliver all the advantages of Flash Disk technology with the Serial ATA III interface, fully compliant with standard mSATA form factor. The S-Module III S8 is based on the mSATA form factor which is generated by JEDEC, designed to operate at a maximum operating frequency of 300MHz with 40MHz external crystal. The S8 can reach 500MB/s throughput based on ONFI/Toggle NAND (with DDR3 cache enabled and measured by CrystalDiskMark) with markedly lower power consumption than that of a traditional Hard Drive. Alien Install
Bought the 120GB drive to install in my Alienware M17xR4 laptop. The drive ship was speedy and arrived in a small cardboard box with the drive and a small mounting screw included. No software, or instructions of any kind were included. More later.Installation in the Alienware requires a good bit of disassemble so it is not for the faint of heart. Other laptops and applications certainly may be easier. The card itself is quite a bit smaller than I thought but it fit perfectly in the space and lined right up with the mounting holes. After reassembly, I had a no boot condition, with 8 beeps. I had to start the process over again not knowing the cause so I began removing parts again. Found a loose connector, corrected it, and back in the game. Booted up and the on board bios found the drive with out my intervention.Win 7 started up and installed some drivers, had to reboot 2 more times for all drivers to install. I set it up as a 64 GB cache using the Intel software on my laptop. 64 GB is the max supported leaving half of the drive unused. Partitioned and format the remaining into two sections of about 32 GB for my page file, and 20 GB for data? Not sure what to do with the remaining 20 but it is there.I'm unsure if I have the drive in the best configuration and haven't run any benchmarks yet. All I can say is no problems so far and laptop is running again. My only negative comment at this time is that there are no instructions therefore the 4 stars. If you are not at least familiar with installation and configuration your going to have some trouble with this. But then again, if you are looking at this it is likely that you have some experience and can work it out.

Faster than fast even on SATAII, even when compared to older (but still fast) SSD!
So my laptop has a SATAII msata slot and a SATAIII primary (thinkpad). Yeah, doesnt make much sense to put in spinning mechanical hard drive in the sataIII slot and a sataIII SSD in the msata (sataII) slot, right? Boy was I wrong. HOLY something that rhymes with words I wont mention, it is fast. Prior to this, I used an intel (older x25M), crucial M4, and a newer kingston sataIII, so I knew what to expect from SSD performance. But what I wasnt prepared for was simply how much faster this MSATA felt compared to all of them! It may not be the HDD->SSD jump, but it certainly is a VERY noticeable difference between this BP4 128gb and SSDs just a year old.Bottom line, this thing blows my 4 yrs of SSD experience expectation out of the water. Best part? Its price!

SSD with very good value
I installed this product in my ASUS Q550LF laptop around 2 months ago. It has performed very well. You really can't beat this product's capacity/price ratio.<< Performance >> - boot in 5 secondsSequential read/write speeds are on par with more expensive SSDs but it does lose performance on random read/write speeds. Honestly, I don't think the average user would benefit much beyond what this product offers. The most visible effect of this SSD for me has been on startup. My laptop now boots almost immediately. I timed it at ~5 seconds. Windows says BIOS time is around 1.4 to 1.6 seconds. Also note that Windows has a minimum of 3 seconds time out before booting. Programs installed on the drive load pretty fast.<< Installation >> - Level Required: NoobInstallation is very easy as long as you have an idea of what you are doing. Basically, you just plug it, initialize the SSD, transfer the OS (might take an hour or so; longer if you still have to download), then you're good to go.<< Capacity >> - 120GB is enough as an OS ONLY drive120GB hits a very sweet spot personally. It is enough for the OS, and Dota2, while still having a lot of free space. If this will be your only storage device, I would advise to get a minimum of 256GB. But if like me you have a 1TB 5400 rpm HDD, then 128 GB is probably enough. Go for 256GB if your budget allows. This will allow you to put more, or larger programs.(NOTE: It is not advisable to fill up your SSD storage. Leave a few gigabytes free)<< Personal storage setup >>SSD- Windows 8.1 OS- Windows programs (Office, SQL Server, Internet Explorer)- Drivers- Dota 2- Frequently used programs (Rainmeter, WinSplit Revolution, Dexpot)~40 GB free(SSD's also have limited write cycles. Thus, I highly advise to only put programs in the SSD to minimize writing on the disk)1 TB Hard DrivePartition 1 - 455GB- Programs- Games (L4D2, Mass Effect, Portal...)Partition 2 - 455GB- Libraries - Downloads- Misc Files(Google how to change windows library and downloads location)Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Only time will tell if this SSD can go the distance. I hope it doesn't break in a few years.P.S. Check if your motherboard has an mSATA III connection, else it will be bottle-necked.

Good it if works, but if you need a RMA... good luck...
Bought this in August 2014 for my Intel NUC. It worked fine until the PC started having issues after the one-year mark. The PC started having boot issues, only booting up 60-70% of the time. The other 30-40% of the time, it would hang at the splash screen. I re-seated the memory and did memtest, so it does not appear to be a memory issue. I submitted a request to MyDigitalSSD for a RMA as they claim they have a 3 year warranty. Unfortunately this company is dishonest and does not hold to their warranty. I have attempted to e-mail them and submit a RMA via both their website as well as through the Amazon vendor website for them. In one case I received zero response after sending the initial email (via their website), and via Amazon I received a response but they stopped responding after I gave them the information they were asking for (order number and order date). If you look at other reviews, I am not the only case of no-warranty!In short, the product is great as long as it works. But do not rely on the 3 year warranty. This company does not respond to RMA requests!

Excellent for more than one year
Excellent upgrade of the tiny hard disk of my Samsung Series 5 chromebook! Have been using it for for more than a year. Then unfortunately it started giving errors. And now I am sad. I am giving it 3 starts, as I managed to retrieve my data from it. It seems problematic only on writes.

Bullet Proof 4 mSATA III
