Wash it and then apply Eastwood Rust Encapsulator platinium. Amazing stuff. You can paint over with Chasy black and have peace of mind. You don't need to cover the entire undercarriage in one go. The beauty of platinium version is that it's silver and if you miss a spot, it will show it was missed, easy to spot. You don't want to have oil or thick rust under it. Prep work matters!

My 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 201,000 miles is literally systematically falling apart, but I won't give up on her. She hit 200K with no major problems or repairs, only basic maintenance. However, now much has been replaced in the engine, radiator, alternator, battery, the entire exhaust system, catalytic converter which includes all four oxygen sensors, muffler and tail pipe. Next will be new tires. Her body is in great shape, paint has the same luster but rust from Chicago winters and street salt has taken it's toll on her body from the inside out. Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Platinum has hopefully reversed the rust problem. Very easy to use and apply, and once dry it appears to restore the metal with a nice smooth barrier between metal and primer. Great coating for metal. Only requires minimum prep. However San lasted trailer and applied two coats covered wit rustolem. Works great

The paint can is cheap and won't last. The paint can lid turned into something resembling a potato chip after opening and closing it twice. The can itself crumpled when trying to close the lid. I had to order an empty paint can to replace this one. The paint itself is fine. Don't let it dry on your fingers. It won't come off easy.

Overall used many undercoating products and this has them all beat by far! It seems to be holding up dramatically better then any others i have used so far. Will update if it changes but if you are hesitant i recommend it! Half the gallon did my entire F250 under carriage, this was with dilution to be applied with an air compressor.

I wirebrushed and applied this to my truck frame, this stuff adheres better than I expected. I brushed it on, it went on thick and dried overnight. I will update how this holds up over time here in the new England rust belt. Don't get it on your skin! I got a small amount on my hand and it's still on 5 days later. It's slowly coming off but its not possible to scrub off once you've let it dry even slightly. Wear a respirator, goggles and cover all exposed skin when working with this stuff. It's not a cheap box store paint, the fumes are strong.
