I ordered this product to cover a fireplace hearth as the edges are marble. The hearth is about 12 inches above floor and comes out 22 inches from wall. I was a fraud my 2 grandchildren could fall and injure themselves on edges. This worked just like tile. The double sided tape is easy to use and super sticky. I wouldn't think it would work on brick or stone though. I not only covered 14 inches to edges but had enough left to cover the back as well. It looks fairly attractive which I did not expect. Most of all, the grandchildren are safer. I would highly recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I was so nervous about my toddler hitting or head on our hard stone fireplace but I didn't know how to cover it. I was about to cut open a pool noodle to put on. My husband found this, and although it is pricey for what it is, it does give me piece of mind. She stands up on the fireplace constantly and I'm not worried.I was worried childproofing the fireplace would be really ugly but it is actually really aesthetically pleasing. It is exactly like pictured and a soft light grey. It is a nice thick rubber with a soft finish, so fine with her playing on.My husband installed it and he said the directions were very clear and straight forward. You will have to cut the pieces to fit your fireplace perfectly, it's not a one size fits all but we assumed that.Our critique is we wish it had come with more adhesive because only their's has worked for us.. He had used a piece incorrectly and ran out. So you have to get it perfect the first time, no extra adhesive. He went out to the hardware store and got 2 different kinds. And neither of them actually stick it down like the adhesive it came with. You can see in the video the edges are up, because we can't find another adhesive that works. So, on a positive note, the adhesive it comes with works well and if you don't have any mess up with installing it , it will look great! Also, if our one of our daughters pulls up another side, we are kind of out of luck.. we are still on the hunt for good adhesive that works for our stone fireplace. And because it is taped down, it doesn't look as put together.Also, for what it is, it does seem a little pricey, but it was one of our only options so it is what it is.

Love this! Makes my raised rock hearth so much safer for my grand daughter. Fits very well and easy to cut and size.

Looks great and you may not need the adhesive with this product!

Alrighty, the good. This thing looks good and works as intended/not intended. I have a non-standard hearth that goes straight into the wall rather than having corners on the sides. The middle piece was long enough to use without the two corners pieces. It took about 5 hours of measuring and cutting to make it fit right in all the crevices and that was no menial task. We ended up making a paper template of the hearth and tracing it onto the back of the foam. Cutting was pretty easy. We did some practice cuts on the parts we wouldn't be using and it was easy to get the hang of. I think the outcome looks fantastic, especially for a baby proofing product.Now let me save you a little heartbreak, frustration, and insanity. The blue "double sided attachment" tape IS actually double sided. I probably spent thirty minutes trying to figure out how to peel off the blue side before I was absolutely certain it was just duck tape. After spending 5 hours measuring and cutting and attaching tape to the back side, I lost it. I emailed KidKusion to let them know my displeasure on a Sunday, knowing they probably would not respond until Monday and I would have to go out and buy my own double sided tape anyway. To my surprise, someone emailed me back within an hour and gave me the secret to getting the backing off the blue tape. You have to use a razor blade to cut the top layer at an angle. Do it lightly enough so that is doesn't cut all the way through the tape, but hard enough so that it cuts through the blue layer. It is not as complicated as it sounds. It only took me one try to get it down. This should really be in the instructions, but it is not.I would give the product itself 5 stars, because it works, it looks good, and overall (despite the tape incident and how much time I spent making sure my cuts were perfect) it was relatively easy to install. But I took one star away because $135.99 just seems like an absurd price for a large piece of foam.

The foam was easy to cut to the needed size and line up on my fireplace, but the tape never really stuck well. I have a painted brick fireplace and the tape started releasing after a day or two on the foam side. A month later and almost none of the tape is sticking to the foam anymore, but secure to the brick. I’ll figure out another way to attach it since it’s in place, but wouldn’t buy again. Quite expensive for foam and cheap tape.

Worth every penny if you have a hearth and young children. Soft but dense foam. Installation was easy even for having to make cuts to fit. Overall happy with the aesthetics. Wipes down and does not collect dog hair. Color is a light gray, not an eye sore. Very happy with this, don’t hesitate!!
