2 Stars, one for the looks and one for the price...everthing else is BAD.
The work boot looks good, but that's about it. Quality and workmanship are sub-par on this item from Caterpillar. The quick lock lace system simply tore up the cheap laces they came with. Took 2 weeks for the fraying to begin, 3 for me to have to replace them. The rubber on the toe is for show, it's not really there for anything but looks. It was sliced open in my second week of having them, exposing the thinness of the rubber and filler inside it. The grey material along the base is foam, so that was also torn up within a month of having them. I attached images from 2 weeks into having them onsite, last picture is of them after a month and having to buy new boots because my job declared them unsafe.I will never buy this boot again. Ever. Only reason I gave it two stars is because I bought them on sale and the price was good.Pros:good fitlooks goodCons:Workmanship/materialsdesignlongevityI like Caterpillar. I had Caterpillar boots before this pair, 6" Generator ST, they were great. Lasted nearly a year, my job is hard on boots, only thing that gave out were the treads. I replaced these cheap Interface Hi Caterpillar's with the 6" Manifold ST line of boots. I haven't lost faith in Caterpillar but the Interface line of boots are crap.

... fit a little bigger than expected but that's a good thing since I will be using insoles
The shoes fit a little bigger than expected but that's a good thing since I will be using insoles. I wear a 10 in nike sneakers and 9.5 in k-Swiss. My last pair of work boots were some timberland composite toe sneakers and within 6 months they literally came apart. I'm a milk man so I don't do any type of work that would wear out work shoes prematurely. At first my timberlands were really comfortable and seemed to be a solid shoe. But within 3 months they started coming apart at the seems. So I'm going to give these an initial review and then a follow up 3-6 months down the road to make sure they hold up. I've worn these shoes for the past week and so far they are comfortable. They are a good looking pair of shoes and seem well built. I've never owned cat shoes but so far I'm glad I took a chance on them. Compared to my timberland shoes I feel like these are worth the $100 +. My timberlands were $125 and I felt that they were overpriced but I thought that maybe after 1-2 years of having them I would have changed my mind. Well less than 6 months later I had to throw them in the trash. Hopefully this pair lasts at least one year.

Long term durability not there
Update, these boots are very cold in the winter and result in cold feet even when wearing bulky warm socks. They are starting to fall apart after several months of light use (i rotate between 2 pairs of boots weekly) They are splitting along the seams and some of the inside has worn away. The laces do not stay tied unless you double knot them. These work boots are comfortable to wear in a construction environment. The quality seems good, however they are a little large for their size compared to other brands with similar sizes. I will update my review after a month or so to write how they hold up.

Broke in a week.
With a product labeled as "work boots" I would expect some durability. Instead they rivets that held on the lacing started to break after only a week. Closer inspection reveals the metal rivets are set into plastic tabs that snap off under very little pressure (such as when tightening your laces). I've had other CAT boots that held up well, but would not recomend this style to anyone who does anything like heavy work.

Don't like the fit, walking in them, or the way they make my feet tip inward when I walk.
I do not like the fit of these boots. Maybe the lasts were not positioned correctly because when I wear them and walk, both feet, when they are put down on the pavement, are tilted to the inside. No arch support is provided. Just flat on the inside. I have White's boots and these were a big disappointment. My Keen boots are so much more comfortable. I'm going to give these to the local charity resale shop. They look good but don't fit or feel well.

Good Looking/Light Weight Boot
I ordered these boots for my son's Christmas gift in a size 10M. (His normal size.) They were too big for him. So, my husband who wears a 10M also, got an extra Christmas gift. I reordered the boot in a 91/2M....still to large for my son. Sent them back, got a 9M and finally a good fit. Both husband & son are very happy with their boots. I was thrilled with the ease of the return and prompt delivery. It's a good day when everybody is happy! My husband has a wider foot than our son and I think that would account for the difference in the fit for them, even though they both wear a 10M.

although larger than expected, but loved them
its my first time to purchase a shoe online, not sure if its Caterpillar specific or should i worry if i'm planning to buy sport shoes.i wear 10.5 for running/sport shoes, CAT10.5 is somewhat large. not that i'm complaining i bought spare insoles, i loved them so much, they are actually looking better than the pictures.

After decades of Timberland Pro work boots my body needs something more comfortable. I bought theses thinking that they would be cushioned like sneakers. They are not. In fact in terms of weight and comfort I found there was little difference. I'm going to sneakers and keepinf my T Pros in my truck for the more tougher work. Will not buy these again and I'm currently looking to get rid of the pair I bought.
