Timeless Elegance: The Houses of David Easton

I am in love with this book. Stunning rooms filled with antiques and contemporary furnishings combined with beautiful fabricsrugs and one of a kind accessories. If you are sick of modern and mid century rooms that have no life not to mention color and substance then you will be pleased with this book. Grab yourself a cup of coffee and a warm throw and curl up with this beautiful book.

So typical of all David Easton's work, this book is erudite, elegant and thoroughly enjoyable. The text is captivating and gracious as Easton tells the story of each project presented. Most of the photos are previously unpublished and are stellar. I greatly appreciated the inclusion of floor plans of many of the projects and only wish he had included one of Balderbrae, his one-time country home. In spite of the fact that our design sensibilities have become simpler, even his grand projects of twenty-plus years ago are still stunningly handsome and, well, timelessly elegant. This one is definitely a five-star book.

Beautiful book! Was a wee bit disappointed in photos of 1 or 2 homes, as I’ve seen photos of those home in magazines over the years and the rooms were displayed better in those photos. Otherwise, a beautiful book.

An excellent book.....an added bonus are the blueprints of the houses and apartments featured in the book...it helps you understand the decisions made by the designer. I'm sure I will enjoy this book more and more as time goes by, just as it happens with a good painting.

Timeless Elegance is the perfect title for this book. David Easton has in this volume, a portfolio of breath taking apartments and homes. The photograps are wonderful and the book was a pleasure to read. I look at this book often and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys traditional and classic interiors.

David Easton has contributed a priceless treasure to American life, by having superb taste and elegant style. He's always been my favorite decorator in House Beautiful and his book tops the lists of "classics!"

I love these wondrous ideas one needs to build extra rooms just to accomodate all his wonderful ideas some sublime and some not so
