How do I know what size to buy? What shoe size is M?

The size is in relation to the size of your ankle and not your shoe size. My son is 5 foot 11 and 145 pound. He wears a medium brace. He does not wear the don joy brace as it was not secure enough for him. He prefers the ossur figure 8 ankle brace.

Scroll through the pictures of the brace until you come to the size chart. It says to measure the circumference from the base of your heel around your ankle, then check the size chart for the corresponding size. That's how the doctor's office fitted my brace.
