More Reliable Than The Strips
I found the Digital pH Meter to be quite straightforward to use with the instructions given. My only complaint would be that I had to go get distilled water to initially clean it for the testing process. I find it much more trustworthy than the pH test strips, I test my Alkaline water filter to test the strength of the current filter and determine if it is time to change it out. I would certainly recommend this meter.

The powder calibration solution cannot be relied on
I can scientifically question the powder used to calibrate. I did research and found that the brand of distilled water I use has a range of ph between 5.5 and 6.7......Does the powder formula assume that the water is 7.0? That is too much discrepancy for my delicate plants! So, I just ordered a liquid solution for calibration from Biopharm that will ensure the accuracy.

Very handy.
I purchased one and i could not get it to calibrate. There was some rust on the batteries so most likely during production, shipping, storage, etc. moisture was let into the device. Seller returned without issue. Got the new replacement and it calibrated first time. No big deal. Good seller. Good customer service. Thanks. Meter works easily and fast.

Not waterproof!
The pH meter worked pretty well. I tested it with distilled water, tap water, and white vinegar and it gave accurate readings. When I went to calibrate it though, it got adjusted to be too insensitive and I was never able to get it to recognize the high pH solution & low pH solution. So be careful when calibrating it not to accidentally calibrate it for the wrong solution. When I went to clean the meter in between readings I used running water from the sink... that was my mistake. I had the meter tipped upside down so I could run water over the sensor, but I didn't realize that the electronics were open in the bottom! You'd think that a device meant to go in water would be waterproof. Also be careful of submerging the stick too deep into the water for the same reason. Overall, good meter, and I broke it due to user error.

Good ph meter
This ph meter works well. It is currently being used at a site for monitoring the ph levels of storm water systems in the field. Will buy again.

Don't waste your money!
Sure the meter works. But Once the batteries run low and I had to calibrate after changing them.... it stopped working. Hold the button for 5 secs and it flashes 3 times? No.... not at all. As a matter of fact it took 8 seconds the first time I tried. Then there is a pause of about 10 secs and it flashed again then another LONG pause and it flashed again.... BUT wait... then ANOTHER flash but no 6.86 showed... only 0.00. Well jeez, the picture shows put in water after cleaning with distilled water and letting dry "What am I doing wrong?". Try it again. Rinse recycle repeat... low and behold... NO FLASH UNTIL I RELEASED THE CAL BUTTON??????? Waited and nope didn't flash again randomly. So I tried again and again and again. Now the other thing you have to take into consideration is that you need to put your solution into a container narrow enough to make it high enough to cover to the dip point. It SUCKS trying to hold down that button for THIRTY freaking seconds just to TRY and get it to calibrate. Now the other thing is this is NOT backlit. So just think about your reservoir you need to test and that you TRY to keep light away from it.... yep it's dark and trying to hold a stick with no light and down into a reservoir this thing is overall garbage. It even tells you right in the instructions that if you can't calibrate it then it's broken.... seems like a CONTINUAL problem with their SUB-PAR product. If my plants die because I have to WAIT to get another PH meter, what good is your "return to us" replacement policy? BTW I have owned this for only 7 months and used it approximately 45 times, cleaned and capped when not in use as well. At least do yourself a favor and find one that is backlit.

It works!
This works as described and is perfect for my growing needs. I PH my water now to 6.0 (it comes out of my sink at 7.0)

Not precise but serves its purpose
This is good for a ballpark reading: if you need to know if your kombucha is < 4.5 ph, this device works because it’s not the end of the world if the reading is off by 0.1. However, given that I was unable to get it to read the calibration solution as the ph value indicated on the packaging, I’m questioning the accuracy and wondering if it’ll be more likely to malfunction sooner. I’m planning on using this for kombucha and to test the Ph of my outdoor pond. Little carrying case that it came with was nice. Instructions were easy to follow.
