Review: It makes a difference - Believe it or not it makes a difference, a real tamper.
Review: Just lovely. You'll feel like a PRO! - I am a professionally trained baristo and I have wanted a proper tamper for ages. I have a delonghi espresso machine and the plastic scoop/tamper combo it came with is ok, but this is a game changer! It's heavy! I mean paperweight heavy! The main tamper is a solid piece of machined steel which unscrews from the wooden handle meaning you can chuck it in the dishwasher if you have one, no problem. The FEEL! Oh my word! It's an ergonomic delight and fills you with confidence that you're tamping your coffee just right. I swear I am getting a better crema since using it and the lovely solid puck of coffee which ends up in the knockout box is further evidence of the great job it does. If you are still using a plastic tamper, do yourself a favour and get one of these. At under £17 for a really well made and well designed piece of equipment you won't regret it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What diameter is the base (in mm) ?**
A: It's 50 mm. Same diameter as the DeLonghi machine's coffee holder.

**Q: Will this be the right size for use with the delonghi stilosa machine?**
A: I would think so. The stilosa needs around a 51mm, this tamper is 50/51mm.

**Q: Would this tamper work with the ecp33.21 pump espresso machine baskets?**
A: It works with my Delonghi coffee machine. You have to know diameter to understand if it works. The tamper is 50mm, so it'll go with 53mm. If your espresso machine is professional one, do not consider it because they are usually 55mm. The tamper itself is heavy and perfect in all respects.

**Q: Why is this better than the plastic one that comes with the machine ?**
A: It's a good heavy weight, well made and just feels more efficient. Looks a lot better too.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No tempers with this tamper

Bought De'Longhi as I wanted to trust that I wasn't wasting my money on a cheap far east import product that I'd have to buy twice. Worth the extra premium. Great build quality with a premium wooden handle. Has a reasonable weight and tamps coffee with ease. Everything you need from a brand you can trust.
