can you use regular popcorn or can you only use the prepackaged packs?

Yes, the unit comes with measurement scoops for using your own oil and popcorn. Used Orville Redenbacher popcorn and Nice popcorn with canola oil and Orville Redenbacher butter flavored oil with good success. However, the best tasting popcorn I've tried with the unit is the Great Northern 2.5 oz prepack ($15/24 packs on Amazon) - used flavored, salted coconut oil - ready to eat as fast as the unit will pop it.

It's Pretty Big It Actually Fits On The Kitchen Counter And It Makes About 3 Or 4 Bags At A Time

I have a different brand of this machine and the red plastic is cracking. How is your plastic holding up?

Mine cracked while I was taking it out of the box. Amazon was great about returning it though, and I got all my $$$ back. I ended up buying the big machine and haven't had any problems with it.Good luck.Connie Banry
