FEL-PRO ES 72905 Head Bolt Set

Man, oh man. Good product, probably a good parts store too. But they sent me bent head bolts, man. Swindled legits at a 'parts store' but hey, glass ain't so half full after I realized they turned me into hoodlum. Gave me a cool magnet though, and for that two stars.

Amazon erroneously indicates these fit the Subaru SOHC 2.5 (EJ25). They are too short and will strip the threads out of the SOHC block. Only use with DOHC 2.5 (EJ25D).

One of these bolts broke off well before the final step in the torqueing process. It broke off 3 inches below deck height and it cost me over a hundred dollars at a machine shop to get the jagged bolt removed. How can a head bolt break off going in? Haven't seen that in over 30 years of experience. Will continue to buy the Subaru head bolts from now on.

Purchased 2 sets for my 98 forester. I went with trusted brand because you don't want to do the job twice.
