Step2 Fantasy Vanity Set For Girls

My youngest daughter just turned 2 and we decided on a vanity for her birthday. We browsed through several different kinds and decided on this one. She loves her older cousin’s and plays with it every time she goes to her house so we figures it was time to get her own for her. You have to assemble it when it comes, but it is very easy to put together and maybe took me about 10 minutes all together. There is markings on the vanity where the screws are supposed to go, but there is no holes or countersinks so it takes you a minute to actually get them to go in like they are supposed to be. That was the only part that i was a little un-pleased about because it would have been a little less of a hassle if there was a pre-drilled hole or at least a countersink to get you started. It is a really cute set though and it is a light baby pink color and an off white. The little stickers that come with it are cute as well and only take a second to apply. The little places for you to put your makeup or whatever they want to put there is also a cute addition as well as the little drawer. It also comes with a brush, mirror, and a comb as well. The comb and mirror are great, but the brush is a little hard so my daughter doesn't like to use it. We bought her a soft brush and comb set to go with her vanity and she enjoys brushing her hair with it instead. There is a film on the actual mirror for the vanity and it took me at least a full minute to get it off, it is on there really good. The light is what really sold us for this set in the end because we knew that she would enjoy that little bonus. She loves this set and it is a good little vanity for a starting out little girl. She loves it, we love it and I am happy with my purchase.

I will begin with the only negative about this vanity: you will either need a power drill or strong arms to get the pieces screwed together. We did not have a power drill, so we just used our screw driver and elbow grease to get those suckers in. Took a little longer, but definitely worthwhile.The vanity is awesome! It is the perfect height for my four year-old. The little light at the top is a nice addition. The vanity is durable and stands up well and I do not worry about flimsiness with the stool either. Of course, with Step2, that is usually a given. The little drawer stays in nicely, and goes back in easily if a little one pulls it out all the way. The included comb/brush/mirror are about the quality you'd expect, nothing fancy but oh well. I found a cute vanity set at tRu and that fits in nicely. The little indents for nail polish and lipgloss were a hit with my daughter! She loves this vanity and now many a morning is spent getting herself ready for the ball.I highly recommend this vanity for durability, stability, and age-appropriateness. The assembly would be easier with fully drilled holes (not just indents as a suggestion about where those holes would be) but almost no product is perfect, so it was not a big deal in my opinion.

This vanity is really nice...my girls love it! It's made of the thick durable plastic that I have come to rely on with Step 2 products. I saw a couple other vanities that came with some accessories for slightly less money but they were so flimsy and would not hold up to my twins rough play. This is well worth the extra money. It was easy to put together...just a few screws. My stool does not have a storage compartment like another reviewer stated hers did. The light works with batteries although it is more of a toy light (not very bright). My only complaint is that the chair white plastic legs aren't the same exact plastic as the bottom of the white vanity so it is not an exact color match. This is not a big problem for me, though, but I wanted to mention it in case it was to someone considering purchasing this item.

Pros: What I love about this vanity set is that it is sturdy and my 5 year old granddaughter sits comfortable at it and will be able to use it for another year or two. I looked at all the kids vanity sets that are available on Amazon and the reviewers all mentioned that they are flimsy and barely able to seat anyone older than a 3 year old.cons: The mirror, which she will be looking into when pretend playing at doing make up and hair is awful. It is like a fun house mirror ... not quite that bad of course ... but the image is warped. The little yellow light gives an ugly yellow glow. I wish I could find a way to get into the casing to remove the light and put a white light into it instead.Overall, I am pleased with the item. Its sturdy. Its cute. My 5 year old granddaughter can be seated comfortably at it. Just need to figure out how to replace the mirror that she will be looking into when playing at it and wish I could change the yellow light.P.S. I have come back to edit this post as I went shopping and noticed the vanity's sold in the stores all have this weird warped mirror! So I guess its a safety glass issue or something .... So changed the star rating to 4 stars because I really cannot give it more with the mirror and light so unpleasant for a vanity

My three yr old granddaughter loves this vanity. Perfect size and should hold up for years. The mirror was a lot better than I thought it would be. You just can't beat these type of toys like Step 2 and Little Tikes. They last for generations!On the adult side: the holes were not pre-drilled as others also said. There was an indention in the plastic so you would know where to drill hole. It didn't take much to drill hole. Some people might be able to push the screws hard enough to start hole but I could not. But like I said, it didn't take but a couple of seconds to get the hole drilled. Might have been just a little quicker and easier if there are two people to assemble but just because it was a little hard for one person to get the mirror and top together. I have bought several Step 2 and Little Tike things over the years for my kids and now my grandkids and have always been pleased with them.

The table and stool itself is great! Solid and well built. The only small downside is the glass. It is obviously childproof but scratches very easily. I am going to replace with different mirror however overall the dressing table is 10/10. Looks beautiful in my girls room!

We ordered this beautiful dressing table for my daughter but Christmas morning she opened it and the mirror was broken, we called to amazon and they sent new table with new mirror 2 days later so now we need to post the first table back, but it's very strong and very good size, the chair is perfect, very easy to fix everything in 5 minutes, beautiful color only the broken mirror was bad in Christmas morning, i wish i was checked before.

This is not the normal run of the mill toy dressing table, it's more a little girl's piece of furniture -not only pretty, but sturdy as well. I suspect it will last a long time. The lights around the mirror give it a WOW factor and my 4 year old granddaughter loves it! It's worth spending the extra to get such a good quality product and it's easy to assemble as the main body part comes as one piece.
