Good replacement for the original set I had installed years ago. Like everyone else, the hardest part was removing the old ones. In my case I prepared and used liquid wrench liberally the day before, so the break free was easy. My problem was that each bolt on my old set required a different combination of socket length/extender length, because of the positioning of the bolts. Very time consuming (3hrs to remove, 30min to install new ones). Installation of these replacements was easy, the angles of the bolts were much better and was able to use the same socket wrench for all bolts. Much appreciated!! Look good and great price, Last set of relatively inexpensive ones lasted for 8 years before they rusted out, so if I get that on these I will be happy. Expect my FJ to still be running then!.

I very seldom do a review or any item Because It affects both new customers and especially the brand manufacturer. It’s rare that I find a product that has great Fit and finish it exceptionally well designed and manufactured as this product reflects in my experience at a fantastic price point. I must say I expect very little these days and this was a pleasant surprise. Kudos to the manufacturer of this product and the vendor who designed as it is fantastically made and incredibly easy to install. I wish all manufacturers took pride in what they design and make as this one. I would give it 10 stars if I could therefore, no need to look elsewhere if you’re looking for a sidestep on an FJ cruiser.

As tube steps go, these are a great value. The style is simple and sleek. The design is sturdy and easy to install. Nothing has faded or rusted over the last 18 months of use. My only complaint is that neither the pictures nor the description show how the support brackets connect to the tubes. Potential buyers should know, the support brackets attach to the undersides of the tube steps, decreasing ground clearance by 1 to 1.5". Additionally, these brackets could very easily hang up on rocks or other obstacles, thereby incurring damage. If the support brackets met and attached to the tube steps directly from the side, the design would be better.

The side bars/step bars were very affordable, the installation was not too bad, it took me an hour. The removal of the stock bolts on my FJ took me a lot longer due to rusting. Lighter tubes compared to other brands but still okay for less load, I had a more expensive one before on my Tundra and was just eaten out by salt and rust due to Michigan winters. I rated this a 5 star because as soon as I installed it was sturdy enough and looks great. I really like the 'J' bracket that goes with it. The step pad is non skid plastic, nice black powder finish. Not too bad for quality, very affordable and free shipping too. Labeled passenger and driver side on the cushion wraps so you don't have to open it until they are totally installed to prevent paint damage and indentions.

Package arrived swiftly and in perfect condition (love that PRIME!). Pretty straight forward installation. Two bars, six brackets and the nuts and bolts. I am 72, have bad knees, it's 30 degrees outside, the bolts in the appropriate holes in the frame have been in place for eleven years and I have a couple of crescent wrenches. My mechanic at the local service center is 32 yrs old with a young family, has a body that's flexible as a cat and has air driven impact wrenches and wanted $50 for the task. He won. Took him an hour, but that's only because it was cold in the garage and he tried to put the left one on the right side at first...he figured it out and I was on my way. I live down a long gravel road in the mountains and now I had shiny new Nurf bars on my eleven year old FJ that was due for it's semi-annual wash at the local car wash. That cost $12 and a $5 tip to some of the hardest working, charming illigal immigrant ladies in town. Total investment-$99 for the bars, $50 to install, $17 to wash, with tip and a lovely afternoon in town with my fellow locals. And TAC delivers a solid, quality product at a good price. Life is good. They look good for about a year, but they will rust so badly that you can even take them off!!! I don't do any off roading, etc... So i have no idea why and can only assume poor quality and substandard materials. I do not recommend buying these.

Installed in less than one hour. Everything lined up perfectly. Product was well packaged and protected. This steps checked everything I was looking for. Price, easy install, quality, looks great and serves the purpose intended for.

I don’t generally leave reviews for products, but these bars are so impressively sturdy for the price that I felt like I should. They look great on my FJ, were super easy to install, and are incredibly solid for the price. The steps themselves are wide and of solid plastic and the bars have no give under my weight (190). These things are just a fantastic deal.
