UniversalGrassCut Spool with 6m 1.6mm line and Sleeve

I hadn't needed to change the line on my strimmer before, unfortunately the original spool had become damaged, so I needed a whole new assembly. This seems to be a genuine part and as the headline says, there was no problem fitting and it seems to work fine. I will keep a closer eye on the line after each use to spot when it is running out to avoid the damage that occurred to the original spool.

As it was the Bosch brand it slipped into place with ease.

Bought this Bosch Strimmer spool as my original had ripped through and ultimately broken the shield that smooths the feed of nylon Strimmer line. This replacement has two metal shields so will last much longer....as should have been fitted to the Strimmer when bought!

I'm biased to Bosch, generally they do great job of engineering a decent product to get the job done with the minimum of fuss, I own a lot of bosch cordless tools, both green and blue.The strimmer this goes into is great, this spool mechanism needs a rethink! Every single one I've used ends up with the collar being ripped resulting in the line not feeding correctly as it gets stuck in the cut. It's incredibly frustrating and means I have to manually pull the line through repeatedly. Come on Bosch make this collar out of something stronger or my next strimmer will be yellow and black.....Update 16th August...... Bosch have updated the design so that there are two stainless steel plates either side of the spool opening, this new design totally fixes the issue the line ripping into the spool collar. See the 2nd picture. Updating review to 5 stars and hats off to bosch for listening and changing the design.

This would have been perfect if it had fitted my Bosch strimmer but it didn’t, despite listing it as a compatible model. I just bought the Bosch ones in the end!

Fitted new spool, but after using it for a while the line keeps breaking off with in the spool between the two silver bands on the spool. Have to keep removing spool and pull line out between them. it doesn’t automatically feed it self out.

It is a good upgrade from the previous version. Works well and has the metal part on the side that really helps but it is expensive for what it is and easy can get broken when changing the line if you are not careful.
