Silent Letters Loud and Clear

Very educational
My son is a little bit older, but has been struggling with "Sight" words. I bought this book to help my son understand some of the rules he was having trouble applying. After 1 month of reading this book every day, I am happy to report his spelling and grades are improving. He is now reading it to his younger cousins to help them. This book is simple and easy to follow. It is silly, so it does not feel like learning. I would recommend reading it often with your child so that it becomes second nature, especially if they are struggling. It is a great book for children learning to read because it sets the expectation to memorize certain rules rather than rely on phonetics.

Fun, silly but informative story for young ones trying to read.
Teaching a young person to learn a word like knot, psychology, or pterodactyl, they will soon learn that phonics is NOT the answer to pronunciation but the need to memorize the word and how it it spelled. This is addressed in this fun intriguing book.

and my students love it. It is great to introduce silent letters
The book is very cute, and my students love it. It is great to introduce silent letters. The binding of the book is very poor. The pages are starting to come out and I have only read the book once. Other than the condition of the book, the book was just what I need for my students.

My daughter loves this book
My daughter loves this book. We read it every night currently. It's a great book, and a great way to introduce the concept of silent letters in reading.

Great example of how learning can be fun.
My daughter gets a good chuckle from this book and quickly grasped the concept of how silent letters impact the pronunciation and spelling of a word. As an added bonus, the teacher in the book tells the children it's hard to learn about silent letters and mistakes are to be expected. It is very encouraging. This book should be a staple in the elementary school classroom.

great book for silent letter learning!
Shared this recently with 2nd grade supported readers. One little man said," Wow, I didn't know there were that many silent letters!" Since the silent letters show up as outlines , easy for kids to get a greater sense of how many of these appear in our language.

Delightfully fun!
After Mr. Wright's class complains that "silent letters are a pain," and sends a letter to the newspaper suggesting that "silent letters should be banned," the silent letters stage a walkout! Kids don't have to know they're learning something -- this book is just fun!

Better reading comprehension, better grades, more self confidence!
My great neice's reading comprehension has improved. Her general reading has improved, too. She is more confident at school and is bringing home higher scores on her report.
