Was pleasantly surprised to find out its USB-powered, so I tossed the adapter in my spares drawer and just plugged it into the multi-port charger attached to the side of my desk.The light can be varied from a cool white to a warmer orangish-toned whiteExcellent in settings where you need a bit more light, but not as much as a traditional fixture with a 60 or 75 watt bulb.The magnifier is good quality for the price - good for casual use, but if you’re a gemologist or such, the lens might not be up to your requirements.The base is a simple clamp-on. As long as you have maybe an inch of room for it to grip, you’re solid.The arm is easily adjustable and feels like i can move it around without any special care, and because the lamp head itself is so much lighter than my old metal one with an incandescent bulb, you’re not forced to wrestle with the tension adjusters as much.Very pleased with it, and an unexpected bonus is I can leave it on the low setting and it gives off just enough light so i can grab a paper or something from my office late at night and not stub a toe.

This light is perfect for my craft desk! I bought a craft might last year (picture added) and I have never been happy with it. The light itself is fine, but it’s just small, and not at a good angle to really be useful for anything. I was attracted to the size and flexibility of this light, and it has proven to be a much better option for my workspace!Be aware, in case you are purchasing this as a gift, it does come in packaging with the picture in the outside of the box. There is minimal assembly required, and it fit easily and securely on my desk.This light is a huge improvement from my original light, it covers more space, and the variety of lighting options is very useful depending on the time of day.I was really not buying this lamp for the magnifying feature at all, but I could not read something on a bottle, so I remembered that I have this, and it was perfect!

Overall this is a good light and I would recommend it. There were just a few issues that didn't work for my personal set-up. The first one I received would not turn on, but Amazon promptly replaced it with working one. Easy to assemble and loved option to power with usb or wall plug. The spring arm system is NOT pretty to look at, but it functions very well when I need to move it frequently to look at different spots ... that part is excellent. Very little distortion with round lense ... easy to position it so I can see what I need to see. Problem areas that caused me to return it after a few weeks:. First, the light is not that bright and I really needed something brighter. (Did appreciate the choice of color and adjustable dimming ... great for wide variety of tasks at all times of day or night). Second, control switch is on the power cord which made it awkward to reach. Third, the clamp mount was okay, but not the best choice for my set-up ... decided a freestanding floor lamp style would work better for me. Overall I would highly recommend this product if clamp mount set-up is suitable and very bright light is not a must.

1/2021 update: lamp stopped working. ordered another. turns out, only the USB power supply was bad. original lamp works great! So, if your product dies after a year, try a new power supply. (still five stars, easy fix)- original review- This lamp magnifier meets all my expectations. Excellent value for the price. Quite bright, and has control for on/off, dimmer, and hue. Hue can be soft white, neutral, or cool white, and there's all a redish pink setting. The wide field of view is perfect for small electronic components where moderate magnification is needed, and the lense is big enough to allow binocular vision to get depth of field.I'm very happy with the purchase.

Purchased this for use on my desk which doubles as a small workstation tinkering with electronics. I do PC and phone board repair and the magnifier helps with seeing the tiny components. This lamp doesn't flood the room with light it really just illuminates the work area just right. I've had it in use for a few weeks now seems sturdy enough and I do move it quite a bit when using the magnifier. The only real complaint I have is the switch is on the power cable about 3 inches before the arm so its kinda mixed up with other cables on the bench. If it was up top by the actual light or along the arm would make more sense. I do like that there are 3 light temperature settings too. Overall decent product for the price.

Much better than expected. The clamp is sturdy and wide enough to fit nearly any desktop. The light and the controls work well and the magnifying lens seems to be powerful enough to help with the PCB soldering job I was working on when I bought this. Buy it, you'll like it.

I have tried clamping the light to a plastic folding table. It's not a good fit on there. I'm sure it's just a bad combination of table and light. If you're going to mount it on a plastic table, the clamp is going to be the worst part of it. Otherwise it works great. Just be aware of where you are mounting it.

I've been using this lamp for over a week and so far I'm very satisfied with it. I tend to work with laptops and sometimes it's a bit difficult to see parts of the motherboard. This has make my task a lot easier. I really like the LED light. That's a big plus! The light just makes it easier to work with. It is powered through USB and it comes with the wall adapter. The lens is pretty good. It does take a bit of getting use to. It attaches well to the edge of my desk. It's metal construction and it doesn't feel flimsy.. It can be adjusted to different heights. Lowest height is about 2" and the highest height is about 27". This is the first magnifier lamp that I use so, I'm not too sure how it compares with others that may be less or more expensive. I'm giving it four stars because I think that the magnifying glass(for the price) could be larger. Maybe even making it square or rectangular would probably be better.

Great for doing detail work at the hobby desk. Easily adjusted & sturdy.

It secures well and is easy to use. Magnifying glass could be better, perhaps stronger, but aside from that it does what is says!

Once you own one, you will be surprised how many times you use it. From sewing, repairs, personal care, and the light is good for lighting the face during a zoom meeting! Its sturdy, well made and I think it will last a long time. Thanks for making something worth the money and something that wont end up in landfill anytime soon.
