National Geographic goes inside the training of the special elite force of K-9s dedicated to serving the country. The Alpha Dogs have jumped out of helicopters to capture Osama Bin Laden and have tracked Saddam Hussein. They're in police departments, the Secret Service and every branch of the military.

Not much about training dogs, more of a action military reality show
It is an interesting look at what goes on to train the military and police to handle specially trained dogs. I would have given it more stars but it is more focused on the people on the show not the dogs. They didn't talk much at all about how they trained the dogs most of it was action type drama of the special forces military who were learning to handle the already trained dogs. Perhaps in future episodes they will show more about actually training these amazing working dogs. Still it was interesting. Right now only the first episode is free the others you have to pay for. After being disappointed with the lack of seeing the dog training only seeing people training while watching the first show I would watch another episode just to see if that's always the case but I'm not going to pay extra for it.

Amazing training...amazing dogs...amazing people
We had the rare opportunity of visiting these gentlemen at their training facility recently. While their language is pretty salty on this show (lots of bleeps, probably should have been bleeped more), they were complete and utter gentlemen when my daughters and I were receiving a tour in person. We got to see several teams in training, and it was a wonderful experience. These men (and women!) are **passionate** about saving military and police lives utilizing these dogs. We have learned so much about what goes into training these dogs. Walking on their property, seeing the dogs in action, seeing them training both humans and dogs, walking through the kennels, petting and interacting with many of the dogs themselves - it was all amazing. I highly recommend this video series for probably age 12 or 13 and up. Some of the suspect apprehension scenes can be intense. *Strong* language warning.

Awesome show! If you look at the picture of the show you will figure it out pretty quick. They show you military and law enforcement dogs and how they train them and how the dogs make an impact while they work with their human partners. This is not a Tia Torres or Cesar Milan show, don't be mistaken. There are curse words bleeped out and they speak straight forward. Awesome show.

I did get tired of the scripting and manufactured drama, but their training is the real deal.
Good show. These guys do, in fact, train SOF, SWAT, and all the types of teams described in this show. They trained up a bunch of 5th Group's K9's and did a great job. Yes, they certainly don't look like they could walk a mile without having a heart attack, but they don't have to. The guys they train are the operators, not them.I did get tired of the scripting and manufactured drama, but their training is the real deal.

A show for dog men
I love this show. But I am biased. Why, because I have trained at Vohne Liche. I can tell you from experience these guys are for real. This show captures Kenny, Danny and the rest of the crew at VLK as they are. There is no Hollywood dress up here. These guys train hard. Here's why, if they don't get it right...if they produce a substandard dog, or a substandard handler, somebody will die. It is that plain and simple. That being said, these men and women work hard, Kenny is demanding. People who work for him have even more colorful ways of describing him. Do they also have fun? oh yeah, they have fun, they have comraderie, and great esprit de corps. If you ever get the chance to meet these guys in person, you will see they are not actors. Even when they are shown doing extracurricular activities (like turtle-ing), they are not doing it for the show, they do stuff like that all the time.I recommend this show to everybody. There is something special about people that train dogs for everything from drug interdiction on the streets of every city in America, to top secret special operations in Iraq (or anywhere in the world.) And they do it all for one reason, to save lives.

The Real Working Dog Show
What can I say? I loved every episode. Motivated me to keep active with my dogs. These guys know working dogs! I mean "working dogs" not just Schutzhund Sport.
