Great beginner drone for kids
I bought this drone for my nephew and honestly I was surprised by how good it is for the price. It’s clearly designed for kids and beginners, which makes it really easy to use right out of the box. The altitude hold feature works well and helps keep the drone stable, especially for someone who is just learning. The headless mode is also very helpful because it avoids confusion with directions. My nephew was able to control it after just a few minutes of practice. One thing I really like is the full propeller protection. It has already hit walls and furniture a few times, and nothing broke, so it feels quite durable. The LED lights are bright and look really cool, especially when flying in the evening. The extra battery is a big plus because flight time per battery is not very long (around 7–10 minutes), but with two batteries you can extend the fun. Overall, this is a great gift option for kids. It’s safe, easy to learn, and entertaining. Just don’t expect professional-level performance—this is meant for fun and learning.

Fun and Easy Drone for Kids.
The Q9s Drone for Kids is a really fun and beginner-friendly drone. It’s very easy to control, which makes it perfect for kids or anyone learning how to fly a drone. One of my favorite features is the colorful LED lights that make it look really cool, especially when flying it in the evening. The drone is lightweight but durable, and the propeller guards help protect it during crashes. The only downside is that each battery lasts about 7 minutes, which feels a little short, but it does come with extra batteries so you can keep flying longer. Overall, it’s a great little drone for fun and learning, and kids will definitely enjoy it.

Fun and Bright Drone for Kids, but Battery Life Is Short
We originally bought a different helicopter toy for my son, but returned it because the controls were very unstable and it didn’t respond well. This drone turned out much better. The LED lights are really beautiful, especially in the dark — the colorful glow looks very cool and makes it more exciting for kids. The drone is fast, responsive, and surprisingly easy to control once you get used to it. It also feels pretty well made overall. My 6-year-old son really enjoys playing with it. The only downside is the battery life. It runs out fairly quickly, so you need to swap batteries often. Thankfully it comes with two batteries, which helps, but play sessions are still pretty short. For the price, I expected a little longer battery life, but overall it’s still a fun toy. The controls are easy enough for beginners, especially for kids. Overall, a fun toy and a much better experience than the first helicopter we tried.

Small Toy, Big Fun
This is a really fun beginner drone, especially for kids. It’s easy to fly thanks to the altitude hold and headless mode, which makes it much less stressful for first-time users. The controls are responsive enough for learning, and the propeller guards are a nice touch for protecting both the drone and anything it bumps into. Having two batteries is a big plus since the flight time is fairly short, but you can at least swap and keep playing longer. The lights also look cool and make it more exciting to fly indoors or outside in the evening. Overall, it’s a solid entry-level drone for kids or beginners who just want something fun and easy to learn on, as long as you don’t expect professional performance.

Honest dad’s review
I rarely write reviews but I believe this product warrants some positive praise for other potential buyers out there. I own a few DJI drones and love them. My 8 year fly the DJIs too but it’s a bit more of a production for her and I to go out to an area for her to fly them with room for error (no trees, powerlines, people, etc). I searched online for best drones for kids and this one was number 2 or 3 on the list. For the price point I couldn’t say no. We picked it up for Xmas this year ‘25, and it has 99.9.% smiles and fun. We have only flown this in the house and it has proven to be controllable and durable. My daughter even personalized it with some small unicorn stickers. I would recommend this drone to my friends and family for their younger child’s first drone. I have had only two issues with the drone, these are the things I always read about first before buying stuff online. I want to know the negative things about the product and see if they are worth the price point. First thing is the battery life. Not a complete turn off but something to think about. The batteries take about an hour to charge and flight time is about 6 minutes. Honestly, 6 minutes if sufficient for an 8 year olds attention span but my daughter has been flying this thing non-stop for the last 8 hours, 45 minute breaks between the flight time of the second battery and the charging time of the first battery. I would recommend buying additional batteries, because, of course, dad would like to fly it too. The second word of caution and this is of course 100% user error but something to mention, these props will eat up long hair. My daughter flew this drone into her head two times and has lost about 4 inches of her hair from us cutting it out of the props. She is now required to wear a hat with a pony tail when she flys it. Luckily it has only been her own hair that has been caught (that’s on her) but please do take caution for your child’s hair and others that may be in the house. The durability, ease of setup and control, and the prop guards and led lights make this drone a no brainer for a young kids first drone. I highly recommend it, so much so I actually took the time to write this review. Remember parents, pony tail and a hat ; ) Happy flying!

Good but not great
This is a perfect 'first' drone. Great for kids-my son is 9. He says it's easy to use, it can flip and turn with ease. It has a good range for the controller. The reason I gave it a 3 is because the battery is terrible. They give you 2 but it lasts maybe 5/10 minutes before you need to change it with the other. Start here and move up to another gradually.

Very tough!
I originally bought 2 of these for Christmas gifts for the grandkids. When they arrived I took them out to put batteries in the remotes and charge up the batteries for the drone.Of course as a long time drone pilot for the larger outdoor camera drones there is no way I wasn't going to at least be sure they worked.I wound up having to get 1 of the kids a different gift because I kept one of these for myself! This is the toughest little drone I have ever seen.It is the perfect size for indoor flying and can handle extremely rough treatment. As an expierenced flyer I tend to get a little carried away practicing and have crashed and bounced it off most anything in the hose and have yet to see any damage to the drone! I can't say the same for a few of the Wife's decorations around the house though! It is also great for beginners because of how tough it is and you can't beat the price.I would recommend this for anyone that has wanted to try flying a drone but wasn't sure if it was for them.I wish I had one of these for my first drone because the learning curve can get expensive when you crash a full size high priced camera drone on the first flight.Even experinced flyers can have a lot of fun indoors with this thing.I will be buying a couple more for friends that have shown interest when they see my pictures and videos taken with my outdoor drones. That way they can have some practice before they ask to fly my fragile outdoor drones! Over all the pros and cons are--- pros- The perfect size. Not one of the little $20.00 drones from walmart that go under the fridge and never to be seen again.--comes with 2 batteties for about 7 minutes each when flown on high speed and getting crazy.I would est about 18 to 20 for kids learning on low speed.--Very easy to operate and do flips and spin and such--The led lites are very bright for flying in a totally dark room--Super TOUGH! I am telling you that I have really gotten crazy with this thing and it just keeps on going. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking:)--The price is right!------ cons are-- I didn't have one of these for my first drone to learn with! If you have been thinking about it-- Buy it. If you want one for the kids-- Buy it I haven't talked to the 8 year old grandson yet but I will update this review with his thoughts as soon as I do.I bet his dad has had a blast with it!!!

Drone doesn't pair to controller
Drone wouldn't pair with controller from box. Followed troubleshooting steps in user manual, didn't help. Contacted manufacturer. They asked for video of issue to diagnose which I sent. They never responded.

durability
One Propeller is constantly running. Only way to stop is to take out the Battery.
