I just received this today. When I opened the container I was surprised to find cellulose colored capsules. To the best of my knowledge, astaxanthin comes from a dark-orange/red-colored algae. It is frequently used as a food coloring, and gives salmon and shrimp their orange color. All other astaxanthin products I have used in the past reflected the dark red color. And while I am not a chemist and cannot justify the cost to have the product tested by a lab, on the face of it, the capsules don't appear to contain any astaxanthin.

Have not used this particular product enough yet to rate it, but i am somewhat concerned as to the quality of this brand.I have used astaxanthin for quite a while now, and this is the first batch that was not red in color. In fact most brands are very deep red to purple in color, these capsules are white??

I took the whole bottle. And no.... No pain relief at all. I think I actually hurt more. I don't go outside much, but I burn easily if there's sun out. Which.. There hasn't been much sun.
