Sienna Plein Air Pochade Box, Artists Adjustable Easel and Palette Box (CT-PB-0910) - Medium

I just received my Sienna Plein Air Pochade Box Medium and I couldn’t be happier with its quality! The design is great and the materials are top quality. Mine came with magnets holding the glass palette, which is exactly what I wanted. It feels solid and built to last. Besides all that, it’s light enough so you can stick it into your backpack and go for a hike (which I did). I highly recommend it!

So I have used this lovely box quite a few times since I purchased it and I love it. The sleek compact design with the dark wood, the glass pallet, and the easy setup make this the perfect get-up-and-go anywhere portable easel. Though it is lightweight for the quality of the wood and the fact that there's a glass pallet, it still has some presence to it, so a sturdy well made tripod that will reduce wobble is essential. I do not recommend the Sienna Tripod. My only true complaint was how it holds the canvas/board in place. 4 protruding "fingers" keep it quite steady, but obstruct some of the painting surface. If this doesn't bother you than you have nothing to worry about. It did bother me so I made a modification to provide another mechanism to hold my painting surface in place. Now it's perfect. This modification also allows me to carry wet 8x10 paintings in the box, so when I'm finished I just close it and go. This is not possible without some modification as the painting is sitting too far forward to close the box all the way. The glass pallet is easy to remove in case you were curious. NOTE: Read the instructions for setup, the "arm" to the left of the box must be pushed back before knobs are tightened or it will not hold the open position. This is apparently a common problem for people.Overall very much recommend and would buy again.

It arrived one week prior to the expected date! This pochade box is just mesmerising from the moment you lay eyes on it. Wonderfully polished, beautiful color, no scratches, blemishes or anything on the pochade box or the glass palette. Aside from its wonderful looks, it's a great size (Medium), too and the palette has about the "surface" of an A4 paper. The pochade box is not too heavy, either. However, I personally wouldn't attach a heavier pochade box than this to a tripod (ball head). The design is flawless, everything packs perfectly fit together. It also comes with a hook, with which you can hang stuff from. Very useful. What more can I say? For this price, what you get is absolutely stunning! Thank you.

It takes stretched canvas of a veriety of sizes. Sturdy but not too heavy it doesn't get in the way of the artist

I was very skeptical about this plein air box even though it had very good reviews. This is a beautiful box and is made to exceptional standards. I have used this in the field many times since my purchase and it has not disappointed me yet. The design of this thing with its tempered glass palette being held in place by strong magnets is impressive. At first I was concerned that they would not be able to hold it in place but they do so remarkably. Everything about this box is great - especially its size. At first I thought it would be too small for me but I have decided that its size is perfect for plein air. The only thing I would point out to someone who buys this is . . . PAY ATTENTION TO THE USE OF THE KNOBS AND FULLY EXTEND THE ARM BEFORE TIGHTENING!! Otherwise, it will not stay open.

I absolutely love this pochade box! It has joined me on a few journeys this past summer and I'm so glad I got it when I did. I had been wanting to paint again after a long hiatus. I though it would be nice to actually be outside while doing it and discovered the world of plein-air. After several months of searching many different options, this ticked all of the boxes. It is compact, has storage space for brushes and paints, is adjustable, and has a glass palette. I love the fact that the palette is so easy to remove and clean since the wooden pieces that hold it down are magnetic. I bought a tripod separately from the brand and it worked just fine. I even set it up at home on rainy days. I'm so happy to have found this and I look forward to more painting days with it by my side. If you're unsure whether to get this one or a different one, just make a checklist like I did. It helped me narrow down quickly. This one also comes in two sizes. I believe I got the medium!Update: So I've been using this pochade box for less than 2 years now and am still super pleased with it. It's very sturdy and made of real wood (not mdf or particle board). I do want to warn that the mechanism that opens it must be loosened before you open it and tightened once opened. This allows you to position it in the angle you like, which is a great feature, but if you forget to loosen it to begin with, it can break the folding arm. So just be mindful and dont force it open! But anyway, that's all I have to add. It's a great, sturdy product and I'm happy with it. :)

5 stars because wow, this is a beautiful work of art in itself. So many features! Purchased to paint on the road. Lightweight yet nice quality. Versatile so can paint flat or standing up and use a tripod as legs.

Everything i needed for sure

Attractive looking item, okay for occasional use, quite small and expensive not really suitable for regular use or professional use. After attaching to a tripod if you rested your hand on the box whilst painting I think it would soon get damaged.
