The bracket attaches with a larger zip tie and smaller zip ties can be used to make sure your number (usually made from durable tyvek) stays attached to the bracket (you need to poke holes in your number but I would absolutely do so to make sure the number doesn't slide off the bracket). I used it for an Olympic distance event and it did the job. So let me be clear, it works fine and it solves a real problem for folks with bike frames that race numbers just don't work with very well. My major gripe is the price. The price fluctuates but you are spending $18 for a plastic bracket that probably costs pennies to mold. It also contains a larger rectangular plate that I couldn't quite figure out what to do with. Consider the following alternative: grab a bag of the larger (12" maybe) zip ties, put one around the seat post, attached your number to the extra that sticks out and trim the extra to length. You can get fancy and drill holes in the extra and use smaller zip ties through the number to really keep it still. It probably costs you $0.50 that route.
