Who Fan? you need this! yes its thin plastic and yes its kinda small but how much ice are you going to need sitting on your book shelf? When I purchased this I also bought a set of Star Wars ice trays including X-Wing fighters, Han Solo, R2-D2, Storm Troopers and Darth Vader. Put them all in this bucket along with moldings from the included ice tray and you've got the making of a block buster movie - "The Doctor vs. Darth Vader"!!!

TARDIS BLUE IS REALLY COOL!
Just got it today and I love it. The tray is small but still pretty cool. The bucket is plastic but I didn't really buy it for use, just because it was a TARDIS. If you use it you could line it with foil or a towel.

The ice tray is a lot smaller than you think, and because of the thinness of the ice, the intricate patterns just break up really, so if you are expecting to have cute ice cube, I hope you like crushed ice too.

Cute little Tardis for a party decoration, but not really functional.
This set is very small, as others have pointed out, and it is made of thin hard plastic that is somewhat brittle. It is not insulated, like a real ice bucket would be. It is really meant as a collectible or as a small table decoration for a party--it can hold a good number of the theme-shaped cubes. But it would be a real chore to make enough of those cubes since only one tray is provided with the set. The shapes in the cube tray are a Tardis, dalek, sonic screwdriver, and a mysterious circular shape. I looked around for an explanation of what this last shape is supposed to be, and best I can figure out, it is a generic Gallifreyan symbol/letter. That is really obscure to add to a set including better known things like the Tardis and daleks.So, as a collector piece, or a themed party item, it works well. If you want an actual sturdy functional item, look elsewhere, or just buy a good one and paint it to look like a Tardis. Get this on sale and you will be a happy Whovian.
