This vacuum is wonderful. It sucks, but in the best way possible!
The vacuum came with the direct connect preconfigured for me. The customer service was great. I haven't had it long enough to speak to durability yet but I can tell you that this vacuum works EXTREMELY well! When I used to vacuum with my old one then shampoo the carpet the shampooer still picked up TONS of debri (hair, for, large pieces of dirt) but with this vacuum the shampooer is no longer getting clogged with the hair and for and the carpet l looks clean just from the vacuum instead of looking like the dirt just rearranged around it. I highly recommend this vacuum especially at this price point! It's better than my old Central vac and it's better than the stand alone we've used. It's very impressive!

Crapped out < 1 year
Would rate this unit higher, if it lasted longer than 10 months...powerhead unit won't receive electricity/turn on. Read other similar reviews...should have paid better attention to them.

Bought two of these, one for upstairs and one for downstairs
I checked out several options at a local store before purchasing these, and searched all over online. The quality is up to par with with the OEM equipment and it feels like it will last for a long time. This kit comes with everything as advertised, in normal retail packaging, and overall it seems like a good buy.The hose quality seems good, I haven't had any problems with kinks. I used a 35' knitted hose sock that I also got on Amazon to protect my painted baseboard from the ribs of the hose. The vacuum kit comes with two telescoping wands, one for the power head and one for the non-power-head.The handle has a three way switch: just suction, off, and power head + suction. The power head also has its own footswitch. It's kinda odd that it's switched in two places but it's actually handy sometimes. The power head also has a six-position height adjustment with a 1-6 numerical display so you know which setting it's on. Pretty clever. The power head has a forward-facing LED light and a black rubber bumper around the front and sides. The power head also has an LED "dirt meter" (green vs. red light) although I'm not exactly sure how that is supposed to work in terms of what it's metering. Overall it cleans my carpet fine, about the same as any other vacuum. I wouldn't say it's amazing, because sometimes I have to go over dog hair areas a few times to get them clean, but then that is also true of my high-end Miele canister vacuum. So overall, a solid performance from the power head. The tools that come with it are the standard stuff. The brushes are of good quality. The bag is useful for holding the tools; you can hang it on the hose rack once the hose rack is installed. The hose rack needs to be screwed to a stud to hold the weight of the hose (not just drywall). The vacuum also comes with a clamp that is designed to hold the wand to the wall too, but I just lean mine in the corner. A very minor complaint is that the kit only comes with two screws, but you really need four to attach both the wire hose rack and the plastic want clamp if you want to use both. The sellers were good with communication and shipping was pretty quick. After I made the order, I found it in my Amazon Orders page, clicked on the order, clicked on the seller's name, and found the contact seller link. Then I asked them to make sure mine were the direct connection type, since that's the type of connection I have. It's a tight fit in the wall port, just like my old hose was.My only complaint about this vacuum setup is that I wish they used more environmentally-friendly packaging inside the cardboard box that it comes in. It was a lot of plastic to throw away, because each item was individually bagged and bubble-wrapped. Maybe there is a better way that uses cardboard? I dunno.UPDATE 1/26/2020After owning two of these for a few months I'm lowering my review from five stars to four. This is because the vacuum belt clogs up with pet hair over time and stops spinning, requiring removal of the top (seven screws on the bottom, then lift the white top off). Once you take the top off, it's easy to clean, but I didn't want to have to take the top off every time I vacuumed my house.I estimate that it clogs up after about 2,000 square feet of vacuuming with two dogs in the house. Basically, this vacuum was NOT tested with pet hair, because there is a design flaw that the vacuum sucks pet hair into the belt over time. The belt should have been better sealed to protect it from pet hair. I have had many other vacuums that never had this problem, so it is definitely something that should have been tested during product development. The way I "solved" this was to use a hot box knife to cut away the plastic bars on the vent that covers the belt. This lets you reach in and remove the pet hair as it accumulates inside the power head, without having to take the power head apart. It works pretty well actually, but the vacuum should have been designed better to prevent pet hair from getting inside the vacuum in the first place. I attached a picture of this.My other complaint is that now that I've had the vacuums a while, I find that the hose does kink occasionally, so you do have to be a bit careful with it. It appears to be a 100% plastic hose with no metal coil in it, which is probably why it is prone to kinking sometimes. So overall, 4/5 stars. I'm not going to get rid of these, and the price is reasonable, but I'm not sure I'd recommend them to anyone with pets (or a very hairy family).

Great Product and Great Customer Service
Our Central Vacuum Hose kit works perfectly with our system. The hose is plenty long enough and the power brush works so well that we have to vent it so we don't cause too much wear on our carpet. We are very happy with our purchase and had excellent customer service experience from this vendor. We received the plug-in type power connection and wanted the connection that is powered directly from the in-house port. They sent us the replacement part quickly. Thanks.

Met all my expectations
The central vac in my house doesn't have a power brush for the carpets and the air-driven power brushes I've tried weren't a great substitute. This complete set of central vac tools has exceeded all my expectations and adapted perfectly to my Beam central vac system. The fact that the power switches for both the vac and the power brush are right on the wand is great too - no more unplugging the hose from the wall to stop the vac when you need a break.

Plastic and not well designed or manufactured
First off I opened the package and saw that it was not the type of configuration I had with my Beam system. I was frustrated and opted to do a return. Then I found that the connection had to be "converted" to direct plug in so I am not doing a return. My bad.I followed the directions and removed the sleeve, depressing the tab that encased the electrical connections. I removed the cord and reversed the plug. Went to replace the sleeve and found several points where the wires would be pinched. Not very good engineering if one has to be so careful as to not pinch electrical wires. Once I ensured all the wires were clear and the sleeve was seated all the way, I found that the locking tab failed to lock the sleeve in place. It would not bounce back up to secure the sleeve in place. I had to dig in with a knife to get it to lock, but I could not get it all the way up to where it originally was.The unit operates okay, but seems to be made with cheap plastic. The plastic had a LOT of static electricity causing it to become covered in duct going over a older carpet. On a positive note, we accidently ran over a cat toy string, and the overload protection on the head immediately shut it down allowing for the removal of the string. It then started normally after that removal.I don't think the unit has anything to do with suction, as that is done with the Beam system. We haven't used it to much past initial testing, so I will probably update this later with how it does. Just wanted to post this for others to be aware of the issues with converting this unit.
